If Israel qualifies for 2026 World Cup and Team Melli as well, if they are placed in the same group, it would be the most ridiculous decision to withdrew, Iran already lost many potential Gold medals in Olympic Games and World Championships for various sports because of that.

There should be no excuse not to play Israel, when Palestine national football team had featured footballers who play for Israeli clubs.

Recently we've seen that Team Melli played at CAFA Nations Cup where the main sponsor was 1xBet and Iran women's football team played friendly with Russia where the sponsor was Fonbet. So it seems that Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation is heading in the right direction by no longer withdrawing from tournaments or friendly matches where sponsors are betting/gambling companies or alcoholic beverage (2022 World Cup). Let's hope they will not forfeit matches with Israel if ever faced.

I can see tm all come out with covid26 and can't field 11 players if they are drawn with isreal.
I think the rule says 3-0 but since it was due to players being sick fifa won't suspend tm from future int competition....

Source? We hear that since 2009.

Russia and Ukraine can't play in Europa competition before the war, same with kosovo/Serbia, Azerbaijan/Armenia etc..
They would do the same with Iran and Israel

Source? The ongoing revolution in Iran and the clear evidence that I.R cant get their grip back, this time is very different compared to the 2009 green movement.

But maybe i am wrong, time will tell.

It seems that IRI will never back down on two things: 1 - Recognizing Israel or agree to play them in sport (even though Palestine itself fields footballers who play for Israeli clubs) 2 - Compulsory Hijab.

Losing medals, national pride, Iran's territorial integrity (in particular Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea), Persian culture & language are not important for IRI.

However, playing in sport tournaments with 1xBet, FONBET, Heinicken as sponsor is no longer a red line for IRI.
Let's hope sometime in the future before 2026 we will see Team Melli participating at Kirin Cup or play friendly matches with European national teams whose sponsors are Brewaries or Alcohol Beverage companies.

I.R is a pack of anti iranian meymoons who knows that their time is up and are trying to milk Iran as much as they can now in their final days.

There is also an ongoing revolution since 2011 in Syria that went nowhere so far too.

don't worry, they'll just imprison and hang a few more, then their grip is back, and people sadly can't do anything about it.

They have done that nonstop, still they have no grip back.

Are you for real when you comparing Syria and their civil war whit a national revolution in Iran?

Dont know your political orientation, but that comparison is the same propaganda I.R is babbeling about when they have nothing to say.

Like Abtin said just before, power and weapons are strongly in one side. I am curious to read which logical reasons make you predict a change by 2026, except wishful predictions

ofcourse no one can predict what happens in the future, but, Ali joon is almost 85 so you would figure something will change when he dies.
