And now we have the excuse of U23 camp. Instead we rather play our stars + average middle age players we know they won't do anything meaningful in their career.

We play so much arab teams that they reached a point where they almost came to our level and are a pain in our ass. They even become poroo and play against Spain, annoy Japan and such..
Tajikistan already beat our youth team. I don't want them to do the same with our senior team in the future
What you wrote about Tajikistan, is exactly the mindset of IRI Arabworshippers who see Arabs and Shia Muslims above everyone else. We all know that IRI has full hatred of everything "Persian", "Imperial Iran", "Zoroastrian", "Bahai", since 1979 their brainwashing of people has succeeded that nowadays Iranians would feel raged if their sport teams loses to Tajikistan and Afghanistan (two countries that share common language with Iran), and countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan (who share culture and history with Iran). However, whenever Iranians lose to Iraq or other Arab countries, the attitude is nothing to worry about they are Shia Muslims or Arabs (People of the Prophet), Arabic "language of Quran, divine language of Allah" or when embarrassed by Palestine, nothing to worry about "Felestine Mazloom"

Do not forget that Tajikistan is a Secular Persian nation, they celebrate Navruz and their cities have statues of some of Persian monarchs (Achaemenid, Samanid, Ghurid Dynasties). They are more Persian than Islamic Republic of Iran.

If Tajikistan and Afghanistan progress in sports, it will be good for Iran. That means regular friendlies with countries who share a common language with Iran. Whenever Tajikistan wins over Iran, the Iranians should congratulate them and be happy for them, and try to improve and defeat them next time in a healthy sporting rivalry.

I would the same about any arab or non arab asian teams of the level of Tajikistan.

Politically we don't have good relation with these 2 countries. The day they reach a good level, they will snub us for friendlies

The stadium atmosphere in Iran is dying because people are bihaal and depressed at the situation of the country to be fair. If things got to the level of fandom in the early 2000's Perspolis- Esteghlal or Iran-Japan 2006 era I'm sure the fans would be attacked by the security or measures put to quiet it down.

Regardless, we learn nothing about ourselves in those games. The best teams in the world actually learn something in games that are open and flowing or cagey affairs.

If Liverpool or Manchester United is playing against a possession team they will practice trying to hold possession against them and/or counter attack strongly. They are able to practice their high press as well. National teams do this too.

If its Japan for example, they can practice possession football and probing for defensive weaknesses against decent teams.

Iran never got to do any of that in WAFF because either the coach tactic was bekesh bala and inshallah or the Arab players liked to lie on the field and break up any flowing play at all.

Asian football will obviously improve but it is up to us to continue improving to keep our place. Preventing others from improving so we keep our position is a scarcity mindset.

            Why mix politics with sports?

As far as I know unlike footballers, fans from West Asia's Arab countries, Australia and North Korea, I have not seen or read about any other AFC nation that have either insulted the country Iran or Team Melli footballers. Actually most of those who insulted the country Iran and Team Melli were those who have good political relations with IRI such as Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, North Korea or among non-AFC such as Russia.

What exactly do you mean by same level as Tajikistan?

Tajikistan might have a low FIFA ranking, however at times gets good results such as 0:0 ties with Russia and Iraq, also hammers weaker teams in official matches. At times has defeated Qatar, Syria, Jordan in friendly matches or tied some of these or likes of Bahrain and Thailand in official matches or friendlies. Last year defeated Trinidad and Tobago, also tied with Uganda.

When I say that there are far too many Arab-worshippers and Arab-Wannabees among Iranians, I am not joking! Because all those who loudly been insulting or mocking CAFA tournaments and member nations been "quiet like a mouse" about WAFF Tournaments where Team Melli was mostly hammering likes of Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Bahrain, Qatar. Likes of Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait never took WAFF tournaments seriously, I don't blame them every tournament such as WAFF, CAFA, EAFF should be aimed at giving uncapped, young and bench players the chance to gain more game time. In WAFF tournaments, the four Arab countries from Persian Gulf region that I mentioned, did exactly that. So do Korea and Japan at EAFF. Iran realized that as well, when Ghalenoei was coach in 2007, he went to Mexico with Team Melli players and played a friendly match, while he sent Iran B national team coached by Parviz Mazloomi to WAFF Championship which they won

Also the same Iranians are quiet about Team Melli's planned participation at Jordan Tournament in October with teams being Jordan, Qatar, Iran, Iraq!!!

              notes about CAFA teams:

              - Kyrgyz Republic : The AFC Asian Cup in Qatar will be their second appearance, last Asia Cup they reached Round of 16. In official matches they are inconsistent, they can lose 2-1 to Australia but then go and lose huge against some lower ranked teams or win or tie with stronger teams.

              - Tajikistan: Have been improving very fast. In friendly matches they've shown their strength such as ties with Russia, Iraq. Their recent loss to Kuwait was due to referee taking side of Kuwait. They will debut at AFC Asian Cup. Istiqlol Dushanbe defeated Al Hilal at AFC Champions League few years ago. Just like Kyrgyz Republic they play inconsistently.

              - Turkmenistan: has two appearance at AFC Asian Cup. In their Head-to-Head with Team Melli, they were always a dark horse. Team Melli lost few times to them in friendlies, tied them twice at Asian Games and World Cup qualification.

Please be patient with CAFA, stop with the insults and mockery of the tournament and teams. Let's be positive and happy for Team Melli's uncapped, young and bench players to use such tournament specially if played every two years to gain experience and game time. There is no need to line up Iran's top players (Taremi, Azmoun, Gholizadeh, Jahanbakhsh, Ghoddos, Ezatolahi, Mohammadi, Ansarifard, Beiranvand) at every Team Melli friendly or friendly tournaments game.

If want to complain, then make sure FFIRI withdraws Team Melli from Jordan Tournament in October and instead book friendly matches with likes of Montenegro, North Macedonia, Armenia, Latvia, China PR, Japan, North Korea, CONCACAF or African teams. If want to play Arabs then play Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauretania, Sudan, Chad. Also setup friendly match with Turkey in September.
Why does it bother you so much to acknowledge that it’s a Mickey Mouse tournament? The average ranking of irans opponents is 108….what value does this bring for TM? I acknowledge and respect the growth of Tajikistan but they along with most other teams like Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are still minnows in the continent of Asia.

the sad truth is with TM we have to be happy when we have fifa days where we play anyone, it’s better than nothing….but that doesn’t change the fact that CAFA has teams with amateur level players in it. That’s a fact.

There is absolutely no point for any legionnaire players to even go to this tournament. No player from Perspolice or Esteghlal should either go.

It should just be all new young players who are going to be tested in three games to see where their level is ….

do we really need Taremi and Sardar to beat Afghanistan????? .

I agree with you, there is absolutely no need to take all the top players to this tournament. CAFA is a great tournament to provide opportunity to bench/new/young players, such tournament is needed. What everyone need to be doing is to put pressure on FFIRI to withdraw from Jordan Tournament in October, and instead lineup decent friendly matches with teams from Africa, CONCACAF, Armenia, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Japan.

FIFA ranking does not reflect true quality of teams. For Example in my opinion, Team Melli true worth is much lower than their FIFA ranking while Tajikistan quality is actually higher than their FIFA ranking

In modern era, high profile teams play low FIFA ranked teams. For Example this month Argentina(1) takes on Indonesia(149), Uruguay (16) vs Nicaragua (140), Japan(20) vs El Salvador(75), Chile(31) vs Dominican Republic(151), Brazil(3) vs Guinea(79), Colombia(17) vs Iraq(67).

Then Iranians fume when Team Melli played Madagascar, Mozambique, Mauritania, Papua New Guinea, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Bolivia, Sierra Leone, Nicaragua, Kenya, and now going to play Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Even freaked out during 2014-2018 when names of Cuba, Tanzania, Libya, Kosovo, Zimbabwe, Congo DR were mentioned as possible friendly opponents and somehow probably breathed when such matches got canceled or not signed. It is such attitude of Iranians that make me fume, when they complain about all teams mentioned but when Team Melli plays Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, Lebanon for zillionth time and constantly insulted by their footballers or fans, keep quiet. How else new/bench/young players can have opportunity to gain experience and show their talent?

Team Melli should ditch the Jordan Tournament in October, and play decent friendlies then.

Only ones to blame are IRI, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and "Felestine Mazloom". So please don't disrespect Tajikistan for that, who had no role in it.

Considering u23 camp at the same time, difficult to have young players (another masterclass of organization..)

Conservative list, hope we will rest our stars against Afghanistan.

Good to see mehri, zahedi and hosseinzadeh. No sarlak no nour. Too bad, ghaedi came back. Would have switch mo karimi with khodab'lou.
Omri and Aghassi could have been included
