IRANIAN CLUBS AGAINST SAUDI CLUBS IN THE NEXT ASIA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ( EXPECTATIONS)
You cannot buy culture or passion, this Saudi venture in buying washed up talents and bribing everyone with money will lead to nothing. We have seen a scaled down version of this for years, when our players went to UAE / Qatar, to waste time, make money, and watch their careers deteriorate.
They are flush with oil money and are burning up their wealth. They will be poor in 25 years and wondering how they could be so foolish. Meanwhile, the floodgates of soccer stars rushing to cash in have been opened by Ronaldo.
I agree with you that it will push us, but the big question is how far! UAE , Qatar didn't do it for us.
Saudi is repeating what UAE, China and qatar did 10 years ago. Did it really change anything for us? Like i remember when we used to play al sadd, the comentator used to say that one of their players worths more than SS's whole squad. Will it just give us excuse for our loss?
Milad jan this is much more revolutionary than UAE or Qatar.. Even China...
The difference is that the players coming to Saudi are not even that old... Guys like Ruben Neves in their primes are coming over
In addition, unlike China, there is actual concrete interest in football and it is a big part of Saudi culture....
Not saying this will transform IRANIAN football, but it's good to have a neighbor in the region that could sharper our overall football just from playing them in Champions league... Or even getting random Iranian transfers to Saudi with top facilities and talent as compared to Qatar

Saudi have a better local level and passion than china, uae and Qatar.
What they are doing is the first stop, lile china, qatar.. Big players but in their final years. Remains to be seen if they could achieve step2 : younger big players playing in top clubs. Money talks but euro ambition and quality of life are big hurdles for saudis.
So far Son, modric and some other declined the offer. Don't know if the ruben neves deal is official but China also got some younger good players : oscar, witsel, carrasco, hulk..
this whole thing is disgusting - tennis, golf, "wwe", football. this is the unrestricted capitalism people want i guess. hope libertarians are loving this with their chests - seeing saudis flash their oil money like this
And IR iran wants to pretend to compete? Taj today... Pull the other one
