Positives from today:
-We finally won something lol
-Cheshmi played a very good game today, one of the best players on the pitch defensively and his shooting and passing was sharp
-Ezzatolahi even with getting knocked out by nutcase Beiro still played solid
-Niazmand looks very solid at GK.. Besides a few bad goal kicks I thought he was great
-Thank god we have Azmoun and Taremi lol
-Amiri has still got it at 35..

Negatives:
-Beiro being a bone head and knocking out another player and himself...
-PAG is absolutely HORRIBLE. Needs to be dropped all together. I mean the guy is just AWFUL at football...
-Need fresher guys in ASAP... Majid, Aghasi, Fallah, Hazbavi, just play 2 of those four at CB and i'm happy
-Ghayedi is not a starter for team melli. Yes he's flashy but he's better as a late sub not against physical uzbeks!
-Mohebbi has a decent work rate but his technique is very meh... ARJ Gholi Torabi and Allahyar are much better
-Hajsafi and Ramin very inconsistent. Will make one good play and then one bad player after.

This is the most expensive uzbek team in their history, and its not just based on one player. This uzbek team has players in europe, Serie A , Turkey Premier league , Belarus and Russia. Lets not forget their talented player Masharipov. One of the most important thing about this team is their manager Katanec who never lost to CQ when he was in iraq. Litterally outclassed CQ in all matches.

Regarding S.Korea. Come on man after all this time being a football fan, you still look at the results and judge a team based on that? S.Korea dominated the game, tested few players and got draw in a crappy friendly game. They are still considered to be in Top 4.

Japan is the favorites and most probably will win it this year . However S. Korea , Iran , Uzbekistan have equal chance of winning it.

If we had played 1-1 against El Salvador in Azadi some fans in here would have killed our players. You know this.

Iran, Saudi & Japan are the best teams.
Australia & S.Korea are one step below.
Then we have the rest of the teams who will only make up the numbers in AC.

The sign of a champion is still winning while playing like shit. We need to get rid of S.Ezatollahi in midfield. That lakposht is really messing up our gameplan.

Amin Hazbavi needs to be called up and tested in defense. I feel like he'll eventually start for TM

I would like a good young CB next to M.Hosseini. Hazbavi might be the answer.

There is nothing empirical to suggest that Iran is a level above South Korea or Australia when it comes to the Asian Cup right now. We have Sardar and Taremi. We have no other bright spots.

A narrow win against the Kenyan League and a tie against Russia doesn't convince me. We won today which is great for silverware but Uzbekistan was one post away from a very different story.

I am not an "I told you so" person. I am making an observation based on the level I see us playing in terms of sharpness and technicality. SK can tie El Salvador now but they bring their best when they play us always in tournament settings, where we usually are hit or miss. They didn't call up their best CB to this camp even. We are not going to beat South Korea with long diagonal balls. Our current trajectory is up for a QF exit at best. There are common sense choices to be made that are not being made.

1) Kanaani should not be invited. Hazbavi SHOULD have played this tournament.
2) Ghaedi + Hajsafi left side is the worst leftside combination I have ever seen in TM.
3) Centerback long balls diagonally with no rhyme or reason
4) Little ability to dictate tempo in the middle.


These are not the makings of an Asian champion side.
If diagonal long balls are the strategy, we are actually going to LOSE that battle vs Australia.

Need Rahman Rezaei to whip this defense into shape. He was a hothead too though.

Jalal Hosseini should've been brought as a coach for us. Knows CQ's defensive schemes well and is cool under pressure, always has been.

Very biased opinion, since korea is in top 3 teams in asia ! And yes we had similar results even during our prime time with CQ and no, NO one killed our players. Iran vs. Venezuela 1 - 1 in azadi, Its a friendly game maannnnn. You should know by now that friendly games means nothing ! Today brazil lost to senegal by 4 goals!

Saudi is not even in top 5 teams in asia! Its Japan, Iran , S.Korea, Australia/Uzbekistan, Saudi.... Saudi are currently in shock after their WC performance. A Lucky win against Argentina and rest of their games have been a Loss(exept Yemen). 6 Losses against Poland , Mexico , Iraq, Oman , Venezuela, and Bolivia! How do you even consider Saudi on top of Korea is a BIG question for me!

Uzbekistan have had clean record since 2022 ! Only 1 loss and that was against Costa Rica, apart from that they have been on fire. This was their first loss in 2023 and 2nd loss since 2022! Uzbekistan has a great chance reaching finals.
