Japan & Saudi will 99% be on the same side of the bracket.

Japan is good but AC is being played in Qatar and i think Saudi will have the upper hand against them there. It will be like playing in Riyadh, where Saudi have beaten them twice in a row

Iran vs. Venezuela 1 - 1 in azadi, Its a friendly game maannnnn. You should know by now that friendly games means nothing ! Today brazil lost to senegal by 4 goals!

Saudi is not even in top 5 teams in asia! Its Japan, Iran , S.Korea, Australia/Uzbekistan, Saudi.... Saudi are currently in shock after their WC performance. A Lucky win against Argentina and rest of their games have been a Loss(exept Yemen). 6 Losses against Poland , Mexico , Iraq, Oman , Venezuela, and Bolivia! How do you even consider Saudi on top of Korea is a BIG question for me!

Uzbekistan have had clean record since 2022 ! Only 1 loss and that was against Costa Rica, apart from that they have been on fire. This was their first loss in 2023 and 2nd loss since 2022! Uzbekistan has a great chance reaching finals.
My friend Venezuela and El Salvador are not in the same level. If you read fan reactions on social media and Iranian media in general you will know what i meant with killing our players lol.

Uzbekistan is the same team that couldn’t even make the last round of qualifiers for the WC22 lol. Saudi crushed them 3-0. Even the Uzbeks themselves come here and say they have a bad team lol.

That was about 2 years ago with a different manager. Katanec has done amazing job in uzbekistan and Infact Katanec is the only reason Iraq did well and as soon as he left iraq was dead. Uzbekistan will do really well in Asian CUP.

Also lets not twist your words. Lol you rated Saudi over Korea ! While saudie is just dead now. As I said on top this should be the order of asian teams : Japan, Iran , S.Korea, Australia/Uzbekistan and then saudie. Either Australia or Uzbekistan are on top of saudies. Saudi arabia is nowhere near the level of S.Korea at the moment.

No they won’t lol. R16 and they’re out. There is nothing in their gameplay suggesting otherwise.

Where did i twist my words? The Uzbekistan of 2011-2015 would never have lost to Saudis 3-0. Yes i rate Saudi higher than overrated Korea.

Korea WC R16 qualification was a fluke and i’m not at all surprised by their recent friendly results.

Let’s not make Brazil out of them. We will beat them.
I would not curse the team out if they tied El Salvador in Azadi if they were playing a friendly to actually learn something. Have we learned anything in these 3 games that will be applied?

I can equally accuse you of bias just because GN is esteghlali and a domestic coach and you want to spite CQ(I couldn't care less tbh, I just want Iran to succeed).

We had our first actual competitive game against Uzbekistan in this cycle and it doesn't tell me we will be Asian Champions.
Which of the observations I made fit under bias?

I do not make Korea into a Brazil. I'm giving you my thoughts on the Korean team compared to the last cycle. If we line up Ghaedi and Hajsafi against Brazil, we would be decimated.

Well thank you for giving me confidence on booking my next bet lol So far none of the things you've mentioned has turned out to be correct . btw what happened to SS?

Also El Salvador is very unpredictable! They drew against USA in their home (official concaf games) . The same USA team that we lost to in WC. So they are not that weak.

Lol you’re free to bet on anything you want. Esteghlal failed because we choked in the important games last season.

                They’re still weaker than Venezuela.

Ghalenoei is still testing formations and finding the right lineup. Look at the lineups in these friendlies, always some new players.

Lol maybe you don’t read my posts. I have time after time clearly said that If Ghalenoei doesn’t win the AC he should be fired. Queiroz failed miserably, that is not rocket science to understand.

                  S. Korea is very overrated and will not be fighting for the title.

In 2018 Japan fielded the second string side and in 2022 Japan had a higher xG. Japan is the team to beat. Their squad is head and shoulders above the rest and their manager has coached the team since 2018.
And they beat Argentina there. I haven’t said Japan is weak, quite the contrary, but Saudi will have an advantage over them in Qatar for sure.

A year ago, Iran's transfermarkt value was the same as Korea. Now they are over four times our value

Amazing how much their players have progressed over a short time period, whereas (apart from Taremi) ours have largely stayed stagnant or home backwards

They are certainly favourites against us on paper now, by any metric. anything else is just people consistently living in fantasy world again.

Of course anything is possible in football

Only reason I give us a decent chance versus Korea is that they have Klinsmann as a head coach. Even their fans are getting nervous with him.

Indeed, they have possibly the worst coach in football - this is the hope.

On paper their players and the depth of the squad is hugely better than ours, where this wasn't the case even 10 months ago, because of rapid improvements they have made

We also have the worst coach so this will nullified. As SK is quite competent, I expect them to fire Klinsmann before AC

And there are some members, even on this thread, who weren't fans of Skocic, Branko or even a guy who resurrected our football from the doldrums (Queiroz), but for some reason are expecting Iran to reach the final of the Asian Cup with Ghalenoei and the present civil and political situation, and the improvement in strength and depth of rivals!

That and Azmoun or Taremi brilliance. Our defensive line is very suspect against a team that brings it to us instead of them just pinging the ball around a team of amateurs. The gap between the midfield(Ezatolahi is slow and our CBs don't react quickly) is very open and will be abused by any team that has any notion of tactics.
