Obviously to an extent. But our players are responsible for putting themselves in the best possible position. Then if Europeans fuck them over we can have that discussion on an individual basis. To pretend there is no upward mobility from rpl is inaccurate.

Obviously depends on his development there, but I think Karpin threw this kid a serious lifeline. That Santa Clara mess was so unbecoming for a player of his talent and physical potential. He saw him play one game vs Russia and maybe checked out his PGPL stats and convinced his owners to pay Santa Clara a million euros to secure his services
