Any word on expected recovery timeline? Boniface is probably joining the team soon (if he hasn't already) so Sardar needs to be there to defend his spot.

Calf injuries have a very broad scope - it could mean 1-2 weeks or it could mean 2-3 months. Let’s hope it’s not too serious….he was off to a great start in pre season with his fitness level and bagged a goal in his first 45 mins.

            smh... ffs..!!
ankle injury sorta suggest it coulda well been a hasty challenge in training by some kale-khar teammate of his..!! ?? i hope he can shake this shitt off quickly and get back in action..!! this is definitely not a good time to be on injury reserve..!! :/
hate to say it but also
such (hopefully) small knocks/pulls/tears frequently happens when you'r unfit and over-exert yourself in training/games ..!
at such intense level of competition he'd have to hit the weights almost every night to strengthen key muscles....especially legs..!

A typical grade I calf strain will heal in seven to 10 days. A grade II injury will heal in about four to six weeks. A grade III calf strain may take about three months.

For Sardar Azmoun, the training camp of Bundesliga soccer team Bayer 04 Leverkusen has already ended after the first day. The Iranian international suffered a muscular injury in his left calf during the Werkself's opening session in Saalfelden, Austria, this Monday morning.

The 28-year-old will leave the training camp tomorrow morning and fly back to Leverkusen. There, the striker will immediately begin rehabilitation in the "workshop" of the BayArena.

Only "positive" fact is that the Bayer Medical Staff is worldclass! Even Kobe came to them for threatment long time ago.

He'll be back for the first game

Key with these injuries is catching them early and not putting pressure on it, otherwise it compounds and gets worse the more you use it when injured

Now with rest and proper rehab and with a world class medical staff around him recovery will be quick hopefully

Are they ? The string of injuries they’ve had the past few seasons, makes me question this.

Injury timetables fluctuate depending on progress, we will see

This doesn't seem like a serious injury, the medical staff is just being proactive so he's healthy for their initial matches

Damn, there's never a good time to get injured, but this is awful timing.
could have been his chance to grab the starting spot before Schick came back.

well he does have a bit of flair for dramatics/arab in him. .... !! often falling down as if he's been shot by a sniper on the slightest of rough tackles and holding his leg as if it just got broken in half.!!
so lets hope the MRI shows less than feared damage and quick return back to action..!!
