Very good first half by Allahyar. Very active and positively involved in the offense. Good passes. Had a couple of shots, but couldn’t really get his feet on the ball to get a great strike. Can’t believe GN didn’t rate him to invite him. He would be a great asset as a super sub in TM. Come in the last 20 minutes and overwhelm the tired opposition with his pace and physicality.

I hope GN figures it out and wins the Asian Cup and get real qualified assistant managers who handle all the football-related stuff and he's there to control the personalities, egos and motivate his team."This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

When the state owns the teams, the broadcaster and the economy, there is only monetary loss in football. Injections of 10 million Fifa cash every 4 years channelled through a bunch of dalals doesn't begin to cover the cost of football.
Football for IRI is a necessary expense to keep millions of men diverted from more fundamental problems.
