What a fool he is to have rejected the Toulouse move. Would have been a nice upgrade in the level of the league he plays in….he makes awful club decisions.

Playing in the Champions League is too enticing.

he is on pretty high wages compared to teammates .... so if he just shows up early(on time @least) to trainings and keep his nose to grindstone, chances are good that once transfer window is closed then kachal/fey literally can not afford to c shone him off totally from first team action ...!! so essentially they'll come to terms with the fact that he is stuck with them at least till winter then he'll be handed at least scrub minutes in UCL? games vs tokhmy opponents in league ...especially those in short run up to UCL games.... or an injury or shitty performance by his competition and he could well be back in thick of it all..!!
i dont blame him for wanting to stay for his probably 1 and only crack at experiencing UCL action ... be it mostly from bench... but come next summer he better not try to continue to stay on to prove himself blah blah ... like he did at Brighton... !!

Feyenoord are on the verge of signing Ivanušec for 8 mil.

With Ivanusec, Stengs, Paxaio, Dilruson, Walemark, it's possible that Alireza will be lucky to make it to the matchday squad for regular league matches, let alone get playing minutes in CL.

Signed just a day ago, Stengs is starting over Alireza.

Interestingly, so is Sauer, who's functionally a youth player. Btw, the lineup is all regular starters except Sauer, so it's not a case of "experimenting".

This means if they sign Ivanusec, Alireza can find himself as the 6th or 7th option. I guess makes more likely the reports of the club saying he's no needed are true.

That Toulose offer is looking hella good now

well, since the club is eager to offload him and his high wages, chances are good that they will attempt to frustrate him as much as possible by benching or playing him minimum minutes while the transfer market is still in session..!!

we will know better his stance in the club winger hierarchy better a month or 2 so into the new season probably .... if he stays put..!! but you'r right things arent looking good for him at Fey.... and i pretty much assumed the club had solid plans for replacement wingers in place b4 they let ARJ know that he wasnt being fancied any longer at the club..!!
how much more $$ they got in their transfer chest..? i think they need younger and more solid Defensive reinforcements still..!

He needs to run for the exit door.

You know, ARJ has this burning desire to play in the Champions League, and he truly believes he's better than the guys who are starting ahead of him. But the coach doesn't seem to share that same belief. It's tough because if he stays, he might end up hardly getting any action in the Champions League, and that's just not worth sacrificing his playing time at the club in the league as well.

He was in exact same situation back when he was in Brighton, and it's important for him to read the signs and consider moving on. Maybe Toulouse would have been a perfect fit for him in a better league (I mean, I don't care what the co-efficients say, the French league is definitely stronger than the Dutch league).

It's a tough decision to make, but he should move on.

And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

It is quite surprising how fast they are trying to discard him. He played an integral role in many of their big games last season, unironically would not have won the league without his contributions in a couple big fixtures.
I think the club is trying to elevate itself though after its recent successes and to be quite frank ARJ has already shown his ceiling in my opinion. They want young, fresh talent that they can offload for profits so they can keep the momentum train going. Basically trying to emulate clubs like Benefica, Ajax. They've already had a taste of the money with their sales last year like Malacia etc.

Stengs is playing on the right side (Alireza's traditional side) and Sauer on the left with Paixao up front.
