How come he's getting minutes if the club wants him to leave and he's not part of their plans? What's the logic?

Because they probably would still prefer selling him before the end of the transfer window.

This way if he pulls off a couple of goals or something like that, some suiter might come knocking.

            Okay outting from him.

Some smart passes. Some really poor ones.

Defensive effort was really good. Still his best up side compared to the other wingers.

Slot likes to rotate wingers. If ARJ shows consistently good performances, he will play him more. I agree also it’s a bit harsh if it’s true they want to relegate him as the bottom tier winger.

Last year, he had some good contributions in key games, and no winger has significantly outshined him.

However, as others have said, they think he’s hit his ceiling and age being another factor.

They lost one winger (Idrissi) and replaced him with another (stengs), who can also play as a CAM (relevant since feyenoord also lost szymanski). Not really sure how it’s strong evidence that he is getting phased out.

so in terms of traffic for arj to deal with its basically as you were. Like last season, if he plays bad he will get benched, if he plays well like today he will be rewarded with minutes.

slot was very fair to him and from press conferences doesnt seem like that is changing. he played solid minutes last year, especially considering how poorly he started the season. Down the stretch he started most of the key league and EL games and contributed.

As for attracting potential suitors, that already happened with Toulouse and Saudi offers, he rejected both so it’s fairly clear what his situation will be this term, staying at feyenoord and fighting for mins. Since none of the other wing options are much better even when they get a string of games Slot always ends up rotating and coming back to ARJ.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Yeah lovely disguised pass. He’s atypical in terms of play style. Classic wingers will take on defenders, play the cut-inside mind game, and have more pace than ARJ. ARJ on the other hand thrives playing his traditional side, has excellent delivery, ability to play a well weighted and accurate pass, and a deadly shot. I think net positive for the team when he’s playing except for the odd game where his touch is off.

The evidence of him getting phased out is the coach telling him he is now a reserve player, reports of the club telling him he's open to find a new club and the fact that Slot is giving playing time to a youth player over him. Also keep in mind Walemark is back from his injury soon.

It's not fully over for him of course, but an uphill battle on a hill more steep than even last season.

One thing he definitely has going for him is that players respect him and "khoob jav meede".

good through-ball but doesnt it seem suspiciously offside..!!?? at least from that one camera angle in this vid..

loved the the way he dispatched that PK though.... BOOM...like a fking boss... ..!

                              ps
Ali is top class winger when afforded space to do his things .... if defenders get in his face, crowd and physically abuse him, his game often goes south fast and becomes very erratic..!!
his track back defensive qualities are superior to his competition at the club.. so that may well be his saving grace, come UCL action where likely Fey would be forced to play a more cautious football ..!
if he trains hard and put himself about physically (so to say, get stuck-in) then he could count on becoming more of starter or regular rotation player for kachal..!

as i said earlier i dont blame him for staying put, all considering his situation this year, but if benched frequently and general vibes remain same next summer, he'd be a fool to insist on staying..!

I thought the striker was offside too. The defenders stepped up before the pass is made. What we cannot see is off-camera. The same guy who turned over the ball (#23) was late to move forward. He kept the striker onside. If you replay the video when the pass is made you'll see what I'm talking about. That guy must be feeling like shit. That's why when you turn over the ball you must keep your head in the game and keep acting.
