Feyenoord up 2-0. No idea how JB has been.

            He was solid.
no major mistakes. Couple of nice passes. Good defending and pressing. Nothing he did should cause him to drop his spot in the starting lineup for next week (unless Dilruson scores or assist in the 2nd half)

Paixao is Cleary the best winger in the team at the moment.

Stengs was playing a more central role today, and wasn't that good.

meh... at best avg...! wouldnt surprise if he gets benched for 2nd half or shortly after restart..
Paxio is a head n shoulder above him From every regard, (Age, quality, low salary, contract length/ potential for future profit ) as a Right and seemingly even so as LWinger too ... barring injury/rest , Ali will never be able to bench him in this team..! he'll have to focus on beating other wingers for minutes

I was impressed with him. Good combo plays, excellent defensive effort (really helped pedersen deal with di maria), and was a real goal threat. He had one great effort from distance that missed narrowly, one that he kind of dragged wide - should have done better with that, and then one that was set slightly behind him but he almost wrapped in with his left.

When he picks up central positions between the lines he is very hard to deal with and fun to watch.

As usual I think reports of his demise here were premature, which has basically been the case since he arrived at feyenoord.

He was the oldest player in their xi, I think slot trusts him especially for big match experience.

Their team has a real sense of balance about it, paixao and ARJ on opposite wings compliment each other well. They are playing great football and I think they will have a solid CL campaign. Can see why he rejected french offers and decided to stay and fight again.

And again, I say all this as somebody who thinks he shouldn’t start for tm and has clear weaknesses for a wide player.

I thought Alireza's performance in the second half was excellent; unfortunately, I didn't catch the first half. He positioned himself perfectly, consistently creating the best opportunities for Feyenoord throughout the match by cutting in and exploiting open spaces. While he had three chances, they weren't easy sitters, but rather opportunities that came from the flow of the game. Even Arne Slot acknowledged and appreciated his efforts, applauding his performance.

Additionally, Alireza showcased remarkable defensive skills during the game, consistently applying intense pressure on the opposing full-backs with constant and relentless pressuring.

Feyenoord were far better than Benfica, showing you how good this team is and may turn some heads in the Champions League.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

He okay in the 2nd half. Killed it defensively, Did well to get open , but the end product wasn't there. He needs to convert at least one of those chances. He also had two really poorly placed passes (Slot was visibly mad after one of them). Overall though he had a decent outting. One of the better Feyenoord players.

Feyenoord fans on social media aren't too happy about him performance though

Lol at kokcu…this is the type of transfer that we would expect from one of our own. Dude had a great season and serious interest from Italy and England, chose to go to a benfica team that quite frankly is not even an upgrade to feyenoord, where he was captain and superstar. Then lose convincingly to feyenoord in preseason😂

I watched only second half, I thought he was very active and involve in the offense. Shoulder scored his one-on-one but did well to dribble into the opening. Like others mentioned, this makes me more hopeful that Slot values him and his experience.
