    Lol.. no.. typical asshat response.

I made the comment because if you think ARJ doesn't deserve a spot on GNs TM squad (hint: look at the selection), then you just don't know football. Explain to me why you think he was poor in the WC? Give me instances where he was clearly worse then anyone else out there?

He doesn't look confident on the ball against tough competition? If you are referring to the England game, then outside of Taremi, explain to me who looked "comfortable on the ball"? Against Wales? He came in the 77th.. and he was a positive impact despite the yellow.

You want to exclude one of the few players we have who is physically fit (according to the standards of a European league), and plays in one of the top 10 leagues in the world. Brilliant.. you are too smart. By your logic, both Saman and Sardar should retire. Lol..

He’s on a steady decline. He’s also not playing- have you checked his minutes recently? Sardar shouldn’t retire but we have a lot of good strikers now that can take his place. 2 WCs no goal or major chance. Injury problems. As much as I love him, Ghoddos is not the player he was either. You need to play in Europe not just sit on a bench. We do have talent but bazikon salari like the one you display prevents young players from being selected and discovered. We have had players playing in Europe who did not perform for TM. It’s time to experiment with our squad and not be stuck with the same team. Our team went from one of the youngest teams to now one of the oldest. Let’s just keep selecting the same players and hope for a miracle LOL

By the way, I’m not sure where the moderators are when someone keeps insulting and offending with terms like Asshat etc. This is why the quality of this forum remains low- because it allows people like Scooter to keep running their mouths without precaution. Many of the original people of PFDC have left because of this- I can censor myself too because of difference of opinion but that helps no one!

Blah blah blah.. like a typical Iranian fan, you operate on hyperbole, and lack knowledge (or at least consideration) of what makes a good selection versus a "hype-train of the moment" selection. And then you complain when someone calls you out on your haughty bs. One characteristic that Irooni and American sports fans have in common? Coach Potatoes galore.. people who can barely lift their fat arms to stuff their faces, and have no experience in sports outside of watching, but somehow think they are Pep Guardiola.

You think ARJ should be excluded because he is currently not getting minutes with Feyenoord? He will. Feyenoord doesn't have the depth to exclude someone like him indefinitely, and quite frankly the few minutes he gets there are worth more than full games with a PGPL team (which is likely his only other option in the short-term), especially considering the standard of training and level of competition.

Im hundred percent with Scooter on this one.

Theres a differnece between these bache naneh sosoolis and a player like ARJ. ARJ can switch on a gear when needed and is the reason he gets selected. Apart from experience, work ethics, excellent results he has shown to be able to do this on many occasions.

Consider all the times he has turned the tide of games. He did it many times against opponents in the dutch league last season and he has done it for Iran so many times Ive lost my count. You can easily argue Feyenoord would not be champions last year if it wasnt for ARJ on at least 4-5 occasions winning the game for them.

Mohebbi is good, but he is still only a prospect and needs to prove his worth before even coming into consideration. Skill wise he is third option after both ARJ and Ghoddos that have proven themselves in much tougher environments. Mentality wise he is so far behind ARJ its becoming a bad joke. Guy ran away from Santa Clara after relegation whilst ARJ stayed with NEC and battled it out is second division? He has a dog in him that Mohebbi quite clearly lacks. Underneath polite surface and polite manners so to speak.

Apart from this I think iranians in general, all of us are very inclined on putting labels on players and put them in categories. "ARJ cant even win a 1-on-1 anymore" and "totally lacks confidence" .. .yes perhaps this is the case many times, but last season I saw games where he came on and put immense pressure on opponents. Where the pace of the game and pressure increase twofold after him coming on. So its not like its black and white in this regard either.

Azmoun is even better than Taremi when he is in form. Even a 50 percent Azmoun is head and shoulders above everyone except for Taremi. If he becomes even more injury ridden then yes you have a point. But this is taking it out in advance.

Regarding this bazikon salari well it isnt as easy as saying x should play instead of z when it comes to age issues. Young players need to be phased in in a controlled and deliberate manner. Having a young squad is important as a means to success sometimes but there is no intrinsic value in playing young players.

I think the point of this forum is for people to express their opinions without being personally ridiculed or attacked.

ARJ is a consummate professional and his exemplary behavior should be an inspiration for all future iranian footballers.

He’s a fighter, sometimes to a fault (for example, not leaving Brighton sooner). Now here in Feyenoord, it’s been clearly communicated that he’s surplus. However, being that there will be many games, and Slot likes to rotate his wingers, ARJ will eventually get his opportunities to show himself.

I don’t blame his decision since there is the Champion’s League, injuries can happen, and players can fall out of favor.

Regarding his team melli performances, his goal contributions during the second round of WCQ 2022 helped us clinch the qualification. Also, I truly think ARJ would’ve helped us against the USA. He is our 3rd most reliable goal scorer after Taremi & Azmoun, in a game where we desperately needed a goal.

Because of his overall low football mileage, I think he will continue to be a valuable contributing member to team melli in years to come. Even when he plays “poor” he can score a goal or provide an assist out of nowhere.

                      Umm, three things:

                      1. Yes, no need to call each other names. Scoot could've made his point without Asshat being thrown in there.

                      2. I don't personally know many fat Iranians with fat arms. My people work too hard. Maybe its different in Tehrangeles. Just an observations, but fat Iranians are not that common.

                      3. AJB wil be back baybee! Just give it some time. And he's a class act and has done wonderful things as a player AND an ambassador. Let him age gracefully.

100% agree. Even if he's not world class, he's been one of our best players for years and he was absolutely vital during qualification.

He scored multiple Important goals we could have had much more trouble without.

Was also impressive to see him step it up last season during the final stretch of 7-8 games where he was on fire and won multiple points for feyenoord to help them win the title for the first time in a while right? (If I'm not mistaken they haven't won recently).

He deserves all the respect from team melli fans.

                          1) Some people need to hear "asshat" to cut under the half-truths or outright lies they are exclaiming. I don't break it out that often.

                          2) I don't live in LA. I know fat Iranians, and those of other nationalities. The fact is the more "Coach Potato" someone appears on these forums? The more I suspect they are not active, and probably have zero clue what it takes to succeed, even at the lower levels of football. So many details. For example, too many on here still talk about formations making the difference for a given game.. lol. Yeah.. if we play a certain formation, we can beat the Netherlands, the Spains, and the Englands of the world.

I stand by this statement, and those who have played will, as well: People who have never played football (or any sport) at a competitive level, even at a small college, have no idea what it takes to have a winning program and/or be a squad player. Fitness is a basic aspect to football, and in Europe, "fitness" has a different meaning compared to the context present for teams in the PGPL, or Brazilian, or (for example) Colombian leagues. It's a different animal, and if any of you have ever played at a decent level, then you know that being even 3 lbs overweight can kill your game. Eating garbage food for a few days can tank one's performance for a game. Not just with regards to endurance, but also touch, especially later in a game. It's the difference between going 60 minutes and looking like garbage, and sustaining a good 90 minute performance.

And ARJ has that level of fitness. It matters for TM, even if he doesn't knock in a goal. The defensive work matters a lot more than fans understand.

                          3) Agreed. ARJ is one of our top footballers no matter how down Feyenoord may be on him, at the moment. He will bounce back.

It's a very frustrating aspect of Azmoun. I still think he is the most talented member of TM, but dam.. he just doesn't take his fitness seriously. I don't know whether to be impressed that he can play for big European clubs with that flabby, "skinny-fat" body, even if he underperforming, or just be angry! Lol.

Lol its a shame isnt it?!

Regarding fitness levels, they used to check Kaveh Rezaeis blood at Charleroi. Ie test to see how he eats. They could even detect if he had eaten too many cookies and sweets. So he told in interviews that he had to be super careful and this aspect of his transition to Europe was one of the most difficult. Not necessarily being away from family but all the lifestyle adjustments and especially the dietary one!

Now the results were astonishing! He used to bang in goals from left to right. At least for him talent was never an issue!

I wonder how many iranians catch up to this?

                                ps

we just dont have the necessary quality and well experienced winger depth chart in TM to deny Ali game minutes, much less an international call-up..!!

the last time he was struggling mightily in his club football and even i was well on board with the idea of benching him at TM, he ended becoming the chosen TM captain for skoocher and he came up with some Vital goal that helped tremendously towards getting us outa of the WCQ Huge Hole that the fat pos wiltits had put us in..!!

IMO so long his personal fitness and hustle levels hasnt taken a big nose dive ...his current (mostly Starter) status in TM is still fully warranted..!
the one thing that irks me the most about his game though is his rather too frequent sloppiness in passing and dangerous give-aways in TM...!! He certainly needs to cut that shitt out ..!!
