His PK wasn’t bad but he should’ve known Azmoun would know where he shoots. Great save. Really unfortunate month it has been for this lad. From The post in Qatar to injury to now missing a pk after the coach subs u in just for that. Hope he recovers from this fast

This might be the end for him Feyenoord. Hope I’m wrong, but things save not been going well for him.

Honestly I had 0 hopes for him as a whole, that's why I preferred Roma to qualify and help Azmoun getting playing time. He is a mediocre player who has a couple (2 - 3) of consecutive good games every 3 months.
He overperformed in these 2-3 good games unfortunately.
Unfortunately our other wingers are not consistent either. Gholi came back after a long injury and loved solo dumb moves. Mohebi don't use his brain and Ghaedi's side and physic is a big question mark against better opposition

Sadly I have to agree with PSG, Jahanbakhsh was a great player and a great hope when he came to Holland, it was crazy how well he performed.
But somehow the days are gone and he didn't develop anymore, its like he was already at his prime when he was young.

I think something that Team Melli fans need to realize, is that our players aren't irreplaceable and some "godly" figures.

And this doesn't just refer to ARJ, but to Taremi and Azmoun as well!

Sure, you may find players like Pepe and Zlatan, who play to age 40, but these circumstances are just super rare

In fact, some of the greatest players primes were in the middle to late 20s (24-28) and they declined afterwards!

My point is that us as team melli fans have to be cognizant of these long drops in form and realize there are youth who could play better (in this case Ghayedi or another youth star over ARJ)

He played final 15 minutes. He looked sooo unmotivated. I have never seen him like that. I think the penalty miss really broke him mentally.

Didn't he have a part in the second goal? I thought he had the pre-assist.

That's the truth! Everyone is replaceable. For every player no matter how good they are, they have weaknesses that other players can fill better.

Fucking hell man, he's injured again and will miss today's cup match which was a good chance for him to get minutes.

I don't know how he manages to keep trying as a player. I'd just retire at this point and move to coaching or something else.

He's got a lot of pride and is very passionate,

I agree he should gradually get his coaching badges but I know that wants to be TM captain for WC 26 when he is 32. I think the thought of captaining Iran in the next world cup and taking us to the second round is driving him.

No way his body will allow that. Unless he wastes a roster spot like Ashkan did in 2018.

We had Daei as a literal statue for the last 18 months of his career. He just couldn't move but played 90 minutes whilst likes of Hashemian were pushed out to wing to accommodate him, even though Vahid was playing for Bayern Munich.

It depends on the player themselves, and Alireza has that same stubbornness that Daei had

The Daei debacle was just INSANE. Literally like we were playing with a man down when he was on the pitch at the ripe age of 37.

We already had a crap coach for 06 world cup and Daei cost us even further.

MASSIVE shame that we had a striker playing for Bayern at the time, in good form, and yet he didn't get to play striker for us because Daei had special treatment.

IMAGINE WE HAD A BAYERN STRIKER RIGHT NOW THAT WAS PLAYED OUT OF POSITION FOR A WASHED UP 37 YEAR OLD WHO LITERALLY CAN BARELY JOG!! we'd go nuts! Yet again, some ppl actually defended Daei playing at the time... Incredible lolll
