Not really, it's split a second decision from the referee, the great ones can spot it very well. It differentiates a great referee from a good one

Manicone has great praise for Taremi and his move to Inter:

Former Inter Milan player and current Iran assistant coach Antonio Manicone reveals why the Nerazzurri would do well to sign Mehdi Taremi.

The Italian giants have been keeping an eye on the 31-year-old for quite some time now.

They’ll be looking to poach his services on a free transfer once his contract with Porto expires at the end of the season.

For his part, Manicone was a midfielder during his playing days. He started his career at Inter and went on to represent a host of Italian clubs.

The 57-year-old also worked in the club’s youth sector between 2004 and 2012.

In 2023, he joined the technical staff of the Iranian national team which gave him the chance to collaborate with Taremi.

Manicone dwells on the traits that would allow the striker to thrive at Inter, in his own opinion.

“Mehdi is intelligent, he knows how to find spaces in the possession and non-possession phases,” said the former Inter midfielder in his interview with Tuttosport via FcInterNews.

“He has notable physical qualities, excellent technique, a good eye for goal. He is very good when attacking spaces, with or without the ball at his feet. This is also partially thanks to his speed.

“I see him both as a centre-forward and a second striker. When he plays for the national team, we pair him with Azmoun. Thanks to his intelligence, he can do everything.

“Taremi also helps his teammate playing well. He likes to play the ball, he knows how to intervene at the right moment.

“We are talking about a modern striker, one who can be very useful even when opponents close in on him.

He’s a strong footballer who always finds space for the shot, the one that perhaps hasn’t been practiced in training. Therefore, he can decide the game.” Antonio Manicone Explains Why Signing Mehdi Taremi Would Be The Right Move For Inter Milan

Manicone also spoke about the striker’s human traits, describing him as a humble, down-to-earth person.

“Mehdi is a very polite, respectful lad who loves the group. A sociable person, he doesn’t even shy away from fans’ requests for photos and autographs.

“When we first met, he greeted me in Italian. He is one of those footballers that everyone would like to have.

“Working with him is easy as he’s very humble. We are talking about an athlete who wants to improve himself, to always do better to achieve new feats and great results. He is never satisfied. And he always wants to win.”

I dont get the Taremi hate. Sometimes players have bad games. It's normal. Blame the coach for not subbing him out.

                shots are usually off target,
way too slow with the ball,
in two games that mattered the most:
                vs Portugal he couldn't finish,
                vs Qatar just horrible,

                Iranian hyperbole.
He is a Champions League proven player. He scored countless goals in a very good league.
Most national teams would beg to have such a player. He is a rare gem and we wont' find someone like him for a while.

You can’t do all that crying and praying bullshit and then get a chance to prove yourself worthy to shit the bed like he did today. He’s supposed to be our best player and he played absolutely atrocious. He was a waste of a player on the field today. He was saving his legs for his new team Inter Milan

We should stop this taremi bashing.

His level is already declining, you can see it with Porto. We depend too much on him and it's our issue. If he's not good enough, it's the coach's duty to not start him or sub him. He's had for me the most successful European career with Mehdi. Mehdi who's a legend had awful games for Iran as well.

Plus all the team was awful in general and more importantly, his teammates level is not the same at club level and national team and there's nothing he can do about it.

You mean Taremi held back because he didn't want to risk getting injured? That's unlikely. But even if thats true, it's still GNs fault for not subbing him. If a player is having a bad game, you sub him. Thats coaching 101.

He just didn’t show enough intensity for me. For all the energy he wasted on the crying and etc I thought he’d show more effort this game. I think we keep someone with his quality on there in hopes that his quality will shine through. As a striker all you need is one finish, one strike. Any other striker on our team (besides azmoun) yes I agree they should be subbed off

He had a poor tournament, no sugar coating it. He's been in a poor stretch for Porto too.

Hope he can bounce back and sign that Inter contract.
