why send an offer if you know it will be rejected...That might even weaken their ability to sign other players (once teams get wind of said offer)

They want to see if kiri porto are even able to negotiate in good faith first.

Sitting there and not budging from 30 mil valuation is not being open to negotiation

      They're pushing for it! ⏳

They’re sticking to make the €15M offer:

        ^15M???

it thought they had offered up to $20M before (or was that Inter?)?

this is the weirdest negotiation ever. Porto keeps moving their asking price up and Inter/AC Milan keep under cutting their previous offer.

if Porto rejected $20M before, why would they now take $15M???

Classic negotiation tactic. If you find the other party's "anchor" out of the realm of reality, you have two options:
          • Throw a fit about how stupid their opening offer is
          • Make a similarly ridiculous offer to establish a second "out of reality" anchor, hoping to meet "in reality" in the middle.
The one caveat is that this only works if the seller actually intends to sell.

I estimate that if this deal does close, it will be at 23.5 ($20m fair evaluation + 15% increase to account for Mehdi's Cut)

That's what I recall too. Inter allegedly made an offer for 20M.

But these are all according to Twitter reports with unknown veracity. So who really knows lol.

Bayern is going after Kalulu to replace Pavard. In that case, Milan would have more funds to spend on Taremi

                true...
there is a good saying in real estate dealing that goes "If you (Yourself) aren't Embarrassed by your Initial Offer.... then you'r likely offering Too much..!!

                ps

i think Milan were interested in Taremi last summer too and at that time Porto were demanding $25mil for him and if i recall well towards the end of last summer transfer season Milan tabled a similarly $15mil offer which was rejected..!
although market conditions are different now and quality, in form strikers are seemingly in short supply and high demand but with only 1 year remaining on Mehdi's contract and him already edging 32yo, 25-30mil asking price seems too ambtious of an asking price... especially for a non-EPL club...!!

Mehdi now publically pushing for the Milan will have a dramatic affect on the negotiation .... its a bit of risky/nasty move but Porto have only themselves to blame for waiting this long to grant him his wish and forcing him to voice his desires more blatantly ..!

i think a final deal around 20-23 should be a fair compromise for the parties... but i dont see Milan upping the offer any more than 3-5mil so it will either close at 18+3 or gets bit ugly and ends like Sardar's situation with Zenit did..!!?

im sure Spurs wouldnt mind getting back in the mix at 20 and under figures too, but doubtful Mehdi would desire such a silly switch..!!?

In Italy, several cadors of Serie A are looking for a scorer for the last hours of the mercato. As Roma prepare to recruit Sardar Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku, AC Milan is still looking for a leading attacker. While several names have been linked to the Rossoneri in recent weeks, it is that of Sardar Azmoun who has been coming back insistently for several days.
Still prolific last season with Porto, the Iranian goal scorer ( 31 years ) scored 31 goals and delivered 14 assists with the Dragoes last year. Priority target of the Lombards for their attack, Taremi should be the subject of an offer of 12 million euros, plus 3 bonuses, from Milan, which should move up a gear next week after Gazzetta dello Sport. Everything should then settle quickly in this matter.

The crazy part is always the Porto fans. I have literally seen the same sort of comments on the Man U forums and Tottenham forums. It might be just one guy but all the comments are to the tune of: "he is an average player at best. We have plenty of better strikers and he isn't a game changer." ....lmao if it weren't for Taremi, their bankrupt organization would be literally selling their mom's farm land and goats to stay financially solvent. Mehdi has indirectly helped them get millions through cup wins, winning Liga Nos, making it to round of 16 in champions league and by uplifting all his Brazilian striking partners and making them look great so they can be offloaded to EPL for millions before they inevitably flop.

Classic Portuguese bums who can't appreciate a striker they got on the cheap (a real steal) and who has literally won or been tied for golden boot in their farmer league for 3 seasons straight.

Porto fans online are very ungrateful lot.
However the actual fans in the stadium and City seem to really love and appreciate him.

He's not a sexy marketable player so he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Sometimes the vocal ones online are the biggest haters which can give a skewed perception of the general fanbase.

Still, it’s remarkable whenever even one Porto fan can be dismissive of Taremi’s qualities: golden boot winner, consistently contributing to at least 25+ goals a season, helping Porto to win the league, and most recently, scoring a lot during the Champion’s League.

I think it’s a couple things: his age, nationality, and the fact he’s not a flashy, super athletic/fast player. He’s hard-working, and uses his cleverness at an elite level to produce. In a way, he simplifies the game, which funny enough, bothers some people.
