He has more than 130 goal contributions for Porto now (82 goals & 49 assists), keep in mind he only joined 3 years ago (2020/21 season)... 9 goals & 4 assists in 20 CL appereances, 2 goals & 1 assist the past WC... His stats and performances are just insane.

Just re-watched his goal, outstanding run, great positioning, and such high level composure. To be running at that speed, and the ball bouncing right before his kick, yet still kicking it accurately with power, such class!--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

I can't think of anyone performing better than him in Europe, only other player close to him would be Mahdavikia. But overall, Taremi has been so consistent in both TM and club level, that I would agree he is the best player ever. He literally scored two goals against England in the WC, the guy can score against any team in the world
Very excited to see what's in store for him at the Asian Cup

The cherry on top is the fact that him and Azmoun don't compete against each other, rather they compliment each other's play in TM and are best friends. Lets hope for the best for the upcoming AC, it is most likely the last competition that we will have both of them at their peak potential--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

His finish man, not easy at all. Perfect ball from galeno but Taremi took a bouncing pass and eased it so perfectly into the far corner. Top class stuff. The international break really helped him get a mental reset or something after the transfer drama because both of his goals have been ridiculous.

When it comes to pure talent, then i would say Karimi is our goat..But when it comes to stats and accomplishments, and thats what matters in football, none of our players comes even close to Taremi. Such a shame he he did not move to Europe 2 or 3 years earlier.
Karimi and Azizi both had immense talent - Azizi in particular was expert of the no-look pass or backheel.
But ultimately they can't shine a light in terms of achievement to what Mahdavikia did in Bundesliga, Nekounam did in La Liga and Rezaei did in Serie A.
Taremi possibly outshines all of them, just would have been a fairer comparison if he was in a top league imho

Mehdi is the Paramount Piece in SC's favored tactical playing and structure..!! (and imo SC is certainly the Biggest reason why the Milan move ultimately failed to materialize ..!! )
so long that Mehdi is physically able to carry on the pitch, he will be Playing... (same thing sorta goes for sr. Pepe)
it is so primarily because both him and Pepe are the Most Complete Package footballer in his Porto... there is sooooooo much more to their game and contributions in team than just goals and assists or defensive/tackling when it comes to Pepe..! SC teams in a way revolves around these two players on defensive and offensive structure and flow of things..!
also probably to a point he probably identifies with their rather competitive Combative and Never die attitudes on the pitch ....cause that was the sorta player he was himself always trying to take the game by the scruff of the neck, taking the game right at the opponents and sacrificing everything for a win..!! he expects that from all his starter, just some can do that better for longer stretch of the game hence he'll keep them them on the pitch for as long as physically possible for them..!
Also he often keeps his newer players benched for as long as needed till they prove themselves worthy of a start in trainings and when he deems them ready to carry on his instructions on the pitch...! that's partially the reason why his teams are always a bit slow off the block, it takes him a few games/weeks to get them all gelling and firing on one cylinder, especially if there has been too many changes made to his key personnel during the off-season..!Last edited by BacheLot; 09-20-2023, 10:11 AM.
