Take a look here and filter it by this season and last season: https://www.transfermarkt.us/fc-port...saison_id=2023
Mehdi had 11 goals last year by penalty, that is 50% of his goals last year in league.
He would have been at 3 goals right now if they let him take the penalties.

I wouldn’t make such a big declaration that he’s off penalty duty off of one instance where the other penalty taker missed..

The collective and individual melodrama when iranians discuss anything is insane lol.
For me Taremi is already a legend that have made HUGE CONTRIBUTIONS for club and country. If he never gets transferred it really doesn't change anything for Iran football. His contributions will have long lasting impact. Now I hope we havent seen the best of him yet and that he still has more to give. But even if he hang up his boots tomorrow none can take away all the achievements. Im content. As an older timer tm fan, I remember shit days when it took 5 year intervals before seeing an iranian player that can play against the best ones in the world. Those were dark days.....Today we have so many EL and CL performers and they will keep coming!
Regarding Mehdis status, of course transfer drama and good players leaving will have a huge impact. Age will too. It is what it is. He is still great. Unless there is arab money involved price of every player has deflated. The market act like a market should. If he performs bad he will get benched permanently. Time will tell. If he starts games, it should signal that detractors arent as well versed in football as they make it out to be. So lets see!

Suggestion: Lets evaluate his form and have decent discussions evaluating his form and trajectory after group stage in CL is finished? Lets start a really thorough analysis and discussions of EVERY aspect of the game and his involvement in group stage when its over and see what conclusions we can draw, where we agree and where we disagree?

Porto obviously lost more players this season and got even weaker.... losing the best source of service will clearly have a negative impact on goals tally. Nobody is blaming others, nor are we seeing these as "shortcomings".... These are you words only.
The whole point we're making is that he hasn't that bad of a season considering his transfer drama and losing his best sources of service..... especially considering there is still PLENTY of time left this season to actually come to a legit conclusion.
You speak of typical Iranian traits. One of them is being very emotional and jumping to conclusions very quickly as a result, instead of taking a more logical approach and waiting an adequate amount of time & coming to a more logical conclusion.
2019-20: 24% goal conversion
2020-21: 20%
2021-22: 20%
2022-23: 23%
2023-24: 9%
Now, his shots per game are significantly lower too, but it only dropped from 3.2 to 2.9 after losing Vitinha and Vieira. This season at 1.4 after losing Otavio. Did losing one player account for this drop, or is it a result poor form from the team as a whole, or perhaps Mehdi also not at his best? Maybe all three?

We are both old timers when it come to Iranian football so i am sure you get what i mean
I mean Lukaku vs Azmoun is another one lol
As much as i like Sardar but one is/was one of the greatest strikers in world for so many years and another one is the guy which his biggest achievement was Russian top scorer and he is 28 already!
We all want our boys do well but come on ….

1 - he has never been a clinical finisher
2 - The level people here expect of him in terms of consistently has only been carried out by 2 players in football history: Messi and CR.
Azmoun's issue is clear. He has the most potential and probably talent, but like many of our footballers, his outlook is more Brazilian than German. He loves everything outside of football more.

Which should be top games from him, considering majority considers him to be in good form and me a kheng. Btw I think you and others are making a mistake by thinking I am just posting emotionally or a ahmagh who just looks at goals scored to reach conclusion. For example, let’s look at goal conversion rate (which Iran19 repeats but his point is ignored, what a surprise!).
2019-20: 24% goal conversion
2020-21: 20%
2021-22: 20%
2022-23: 23%
2023-24: 9%

Otavio was the last remaining quality creator so it makes sense to me that Taremi's shots dropped even more this season.
I agree that it could be a combination of a couple things like you mentioned.
Let's wait and see!

Last I checked, football was a team sport with 11 players. It is ridiculous to expect one person on a team to change a team's fortunes single-handedly.
Anyone who has ever watched football regularly realizes that this is not the same Porto team as last year. Blame the players sold, blame the coach, blame the front office, but this is not the same caliber team. Expect the results, both team results and individual results, accordingly.Sign this petition to show opposition to US/UK support for the Rajavi/MKO cult

Uribe and Octavio were the ENGINES that ran the old Porto MF and beyond on the consistent basis in the past 2-3 seasons..!! (Especially so Octavio)
others MF departees vitinia/fabiV were just promising young MF talents who only played their limited role well enough on an occasion/frequent basis so as to be able to leave for greener pastures but only so primarily due to their young age and promi$$ing outlook to the purchasing clubs..!!
Uribe slowed down significantly and started showing his age during last year anyways ... so his departure wasnt nearly as all damaging to the MF (defensive and playmaking) prowess of Porto as it was Octavio's....!!
on attacking/mf front other big losses were LD which was replaced by a budget and much more stupid version Galeno and the mounting injuries to the hardworking attacking partner of Mehdi/ Evanilson which has kept him off the pitch more so than on it during the last year or so..!
to exasperate the situation they also Lost some Marquee Defensive pieces which has made the club much, much more defensively soft and vulnerable..!
Mbemba was a vastly underrated and underappreciated CB who's departure was an immediate big blow imo and made Sr. Pepe's job that much more difficult and tough to cover for and cope with .... probably biggest reason why he started to finally showing his age and injuring himself far more frequently ...!!
without these 2 anchoring Porto's backline, they are now far more susceptible to conceding, hence forced to a more conservative attacking approach and more importantly due to their absence Porto these days, is no longer able to even progress the ball outa back in to the fking CMF area .... che berese into the attacking 1/3 of the opponents..!!
Ive lost count of how many times Porto is forced into bezan zieresh to progress the ball from their backline this season or how many freaking times even Diogo forced to blindly hoof it upfied as well ..!
SC knows about this huge shortcoming as well as most their opponents this season..! hence you notice how frequently they get pressed up high this season as years prior...! that is also why Mehdi is also instructed to tank so far back, in order to help with their struggling transition play and progressing the ball forward..!
as such naturally he gets far more tired retrieving so far back and thus unable to join their attacking forrays as quickly as necessary and as frequently as the b4 years..! not to mention that even when he does so this year, he is either ignorantly overlooked by greedy attacking partners or hit with an untimely and rather weak service ..!
Not to mention that from my observation this season far more than the years prior Mehdi is marked tighter than a nun's bumhole all over the pitch and often double teamed when near the opponent's box..!!
Opponents know full well that if they take him outa of the game, other attackers pose little serious threat ..!

Inter could be interested in Mehdi in the January transfer window.
