I know they struggled against Sporting last year but everyone knows Arsenal is first place in EPL right now.. Good draw for Taremi because British media will cover him but bad draw for Porto imo

exciting draw..!!
in terms of progression prospects definitely coulda been better ..!
when is the game anyways..? not so sure Mehdi be around for it by then..!!? Porto are likely to cash in on him this winter ? unless they fancy themselves against the gunners and think they have a realistic chance of a domestic title still..?
w/o Mehdi or w/o further MF/WB Quality reinforcements this winter they aint look very likely to achieve either..!!

I also looked at how much Porto has made from advancing in the Champions League Group Stage.
Basically by keeping Taremi and advancing, they made 3x what they probably would have by selling Taremi in the summer.

They're a pretty bad team. Taremi does so much that the bling bling FUT fans don't pay attention to.
He covers 2 roles at least and they wouldn't have found anyone as good for a price as low as him.

Can’t send image but here’s the link for just prize money: https://en.as.com/soccer/uefa-champi...outputType=amp
Basically its:
Group stage draw - 1M euros
Group stage win - 3M euros
RO16 - 10M euros
Quarterfinal - 11.5M euros
For the portuguese league, prize money is:
Winner - 30M euros
2nd place - 22M euros
3rd place - 18M euros
Assuming keeping him allows them to beat Arsenal and win 1st place in league, he would be worth just 20M euros to them from that alone. I doubt any club would pay more than 10M when they can get him for free in the summer.
Also seeing this now, maybe we can see why Porto was reluctant to sell him even for 25M euros. The economic impact of Taremi helping them win group stage matches and potentially helping them win league/make deep UCL run is far greater than 25M euros. Now seeing it from this perspective, it makes a lot more sense why Porto didn’t sell him.

I genuinely have lost interest in Porto winning after seeing how illiterate their internet fans are (i know the stadium ones and the ones in Porto itself are different), seeing them turn on a player who does so much for their team.
But in the occasions where they are against Sporting or Benfica that's an exception
