This is actually kind of sad. I did not expect him to get zero minutes today. First, our own fans tore them apart after the Asian cup, now, the Porto fans are really digging into him. I hope this doesn’t go to his head and play mental games with him. This transfer can’t come soon enough. Let’s hope nothing falls through.

waste of my time..... annoying ....
i suppose they were comfortably cruising to victory, and there was no need for his services..? especially with UCL game looming fast on wed..?
attacking wise Porto still looking awful wing heavy 1 dimensional (especially down RW)and defensively suspect if pressed deep into their own half which will be all but inevitable vs Arsenal ..!!
Pepe Jr seemed pull something towards the end of the match .... if deemed unfit for wed. then all the more likely SC would be forced to start MT but in a more withdrawn, provider role..?

Hey guys. I want to translate well what SC said: "We should respect Mehdi Taremi cause he is the 3th best foreign scorer in FC Porto of all time". Of course not best 3th player, as Porto had Futre, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, Vitor Baía, Hulk, Falcao, Ricardo Quaresma, Madjer, Lucho Gonzalez, Maniche, Jackson Martinez and many others who won Champions League and UEFA Cup with FC Porto jersey. Actually FC Porto achieved many things in the last 2 decades so is a pretty modern success and is considerably a difficult time since a sleepy Gigant like SL Benfica back to dominate the League after FC Porto being clearly the best team in Portugal and representing Portugal at Europe in this Century. We had legends like Jose Mourinho and Vilas Boas who won everything for FC Porto but because Benfica back again in stage (when Jorge Jesus finally had a big challenge in Benfica) and people considered Sergio Conceição as a legendary coach for the delicate moment that FC Porto is facing last years before his arrival.

I dont get why some dear hamvatans here are suprised.
1.Porto has been playing good whitout Taremi for a while now.
2. He is going to leave in the summer for free so ofcurse they want to promote their younger players so their value rises for sale in the summer.
3. Taremi has been playing alot lately and Porto have CL against Arsenal next week so maybe they want to rest him for that clash is also a factor.
SC loves Taremi and is not namaknashnas for all the things Mehdi have done for this namaknashnas club, but this is still a cold ass bussines, i still think that Mehdi will either start or get good minutes from the bench against Arsenal and thats why he got 0 minutes last night to save his legs against a tokhmi leauge team.
If he gets 0 minutes in CL next week, in that case khak bar sare Porto.

Guys, as some mentioned as well, this is totally understandable. He's leaving next summer, SC must rely on the players that he knows will be there next year. For 3 years, he has built the whole plan based on squad with Taremi but also a squad without Taremi (when he was suspended) and he learned back then that he had basically no power in his offence when Taremi was gone. Now that he's got som flow in his offence while Taremi was gone, he needs to stick to that plan. But trust me, whenever he feels he's in trouble, he will go back to his old plan with Taremi as long as Taremi is in Porto. Just like he did last weekend when they were down 3-1. That time it didn't help since the whole team sucked but he's still relying on Taremi's experience and capabilities.
I'm still 100% sure that he still loves Taremi and he would do anything to have him in the team also next season but now that he knows that Taremi will leave, he needs to accept the fact. Once again, I'm pretty sure Taremi will get playing time but not as starter maybe and that's understandable but games like for exempel UCL against Arsenal, SC needs Taremis international experience and he will use him. And I'm pretty sure that SC has had discussions with Mehdi and explained the situation for him but that doesn't mean that Mehdi wont be disappointed sitting on the bench but I think even Mehdi will understand the situation.
And for those of you that think this might have impact on Inter and their plan, that's totally out of question. Even Inter Milan don't expect nothing else because they do understand that player that will leave in 4 months wont get much playing time. They are aware of his qualities and they know that Mehdi not getting playing time is not because of lack of quality.

Porto Manager Sergio Conceicao Demands Respect For Inter Milan Bound Striker Mehdi Taremi
The Portuguese tactician shrugs off talks about the canceled flight, preferring to focus on the striker’s contribution to the club.
“I don’t work at the airport. So I have no idea if there were flights or not,” said Conceicao in his press conference via FcInterNews.
“Here it’s not enough to have a contract, you have to have respect for the player.”
The former Inter Milan and Lazio winger insists that Taremi deserves recognition, reminding that the latter is Porto’s third all-time goalscorer.
“We’re talking about a player who is in the Top Three of the club’s top scorers. He’s only behind Jardel and Jackson. He is ahead of Hulk.
“People seem to forget Taremi’s 100 goals and 50 assists. Mehdi respeccts the club.
“He took a trip back from Qatar without getting any sleep and made himself available against Arouca. So let’s not get carried away.
“Taremi can give you all sorts of solutions upfront. It depends on the strategy. There is an appropriate system for every match.
“So we need to see if we need players with Mehdi’s traits or not.”
Didn’t know this but wow he is 7 goals away from becoming the 2nd all time goal scorer.
