I think he was supposed to take the 5th kick since experts say first, thired and fifth are the most important kicks. Nevertheless, overall Porto did great job considering Arsenal is currently a top European team and they managed to have only 4 shots on target vs Porto. Pepe is a literally a beast at 41. Swedish commentators praised Porto a lot.

Regarding the Penalties, I think it's not only SC who decides. Players needs to be prepared mentally as well and I think the coach askes the players if they are mentally ready to take the shot. Who knows, maybe Mehdi was asked but declined. But when it comes to Wendell, that was stupid to let him take PK since earlier in the game, at least in the overtime, he was limping, had so much pain so coach should definitely not let him to take penalty even if Wendel himself insisted.

Some players you can just tell are going to make a potential mistake by just looking at them. The moment I saw how anxious and nervous Wendell looked I was like he's gonna screw it up isn't he. I thought the same thing with Alireza when he took that Feyenoord penalty recently because he looked like he wanted to cry before he took it.

Needed a bit more pace & accuracy on the kick otherwise it was a pretty decent effort still … especially compared to that weakAss telegraph shot from galeno..!
keeper got super lucky on Wendell’s pk as his shot crashed off the upright hit his back & still barely spilled out to his arm..!:/ usually those bounce right off the back of keeper into goal..!!

Personally didn’t care much for most of the PK taker choices SC made & neither for the order of them ..!
Mehdi shoulda started & Pepe Sr shoulda been an early dispatcher… even the lil cocky fker SC jr woulda been a more sure spot kicker..!?
Diogo also was shaky all game long & didn’t even come close to saving any PKs ..! :/

all around it was really annoying fucking way to lose the game of that magnitude to a vastly overpriced & overhyped tokhmy opponent ..!

He looked pretty down against Hong Kong from what I recall .

He seems off in general the last year or so from his body language perhaps he was desperate for the inter move and is unhappy it didn’t come to fruition

Time kills deals and the fact that he hasn't signed with them a few months after said Fabrizio said "here we go" is concerning (although Mehdi was injured). I wouldn't be surprised if Inter is cooling on him due to his poor form this year. Hope this is false but let's see what happens.
