Negatives: Almost everything, so many hyped up players that obviously arent that good.
Positives: Ghobeishavis hairstyle. this guy should get called up immediately. Eslami is not bad either, but he needs to gain weight, or atleast know how to use his body against bigger opponents.
This falls on the GN and federation for appointing him.
This is just the start of the embarrassment. With people like Khodadad and Hooman as advisors for TM, team Melli is bound to have a similar level of failure eventually.
Thank the Lord that our under 17 team is coached by a semi qualified person
Exactly, watch a similar spectacular crash at AC with Enayati's daddy
fair play to Enayati for giving people a little taste of Asian Cup
I know U23 and national team are different but we are going to get quite the wake-up call with the conditioning and fitness of our players in comparison with the top 10 teams in Asia. Suddenly getting wins in two consecutive world cups will seem like miracles.

I was specifically talking about conditioning and fitness. I look at other teams having better preparation. The players themselves say repeatedly that apart from Queiroz era, the nutrition and fitness work in camps was a joke. Be sure that UAE, Qatar, Saudi, will be having intensive physical and psychological regimes in the run up to the cup. Tournaments are a different ball game compared to 10 years ago, and especially with Saudi we can expect a huge push
We are not top 10 in conditioning or fitness specifically - in particular our domestic players. Possibly even worse. Taremi is game fit but even he has run out of steam in match 3 for our big tournaments

I understand now.
I think one of GN’s strengths is condition and fitness. However it’s also a reflection of club form for the players.
Our major weakness is lack of discipline, and buckling in high pressure situations.
Ultimately with a healthy Taremi and Ezatollahi, I think we can go far.
You’re an old timer on this forum and I think we’d both agree this isn’t our worst Asian cup squad at all.
Wow this team Omid error bi Omid
lost to hngk that lost to Uzbekistan 10-0 and
Tmo 3-0 3 weeks ago.
against hngk, afg, mongolia, thailand no matter who the coach is just base on the Persian players talent
they should win......
Let’s not forget Sepahan didn’t give their players. Persepolis withdrew their players. Fallah and another player got injured. And the Esteghlal players were atrocious.
then the whole league got cancelled to stop Esteghlal from complaining. On top of all that, yahya’s solution for the busy schedule? He asked IFF to cancel the international fifa days!
with this kind of love for TM Omid and TM, wha do you expect ?
IFF needs to stop trying to make everyone happy. Be firm in your fucking decisions. Football will be better off for it.
2000,2007 and 2015 was weaker imo!
But this squad is old!

Age for an international squad isn’t as big of an issue as it was before. 2007-2015 were all very weak teams. I thought 2000 was one of our best (in terms of talent) but the team had no discipline thanks to players and Jalal Talebi.
