Are you 100% sure, cause I am pretty sure this is his brother: https://www.instagram.com/eckidargahi/ and look at his last name.

Also, it has been said his grandfather is Iranian (dad side), so what's his Persian last name?

His mom is Spanish. Ayensa is a Spanish surname. It also follows Spanish naming conventions where the father’s surname comes first, and the mother’s surname comes second.

His dad is German with partial Iranian heritage. Eckert is a German surname.

I know Eckert is a Germany last name. But what is his grandfather's last name if he is Iranian?

well, he kinda, sorta has to garner himself starting role and large minutes and do something big in such a marquee match-up .... !! that is if he wants to have any real chance of becoming an International footballer..!

there is a lot of difficult bureaucratic bitchwork and off course significant bit of pride-swallowing on our part involved in order to eventually send a Formal Senior TM invite to this guy (hoping he wouldnt refuse and embarrass us..!?)..!! and such will not realistically happen for him YET, based on his footballing accomplishments so far..!
i mean so what that he is leading scorer of Belgian league with Only 4-5 rounds of games in so far..??
so YES for a guy with Only a hint of iranian in him, Hed almost have to blow it up vs Pool and continue to be amongst the scoring leaders of the Bleague for much longer spell, in order to gain the exposure and excitement needed for attaining a TM first call up..!!

dont get me wrong; I believe he certainly has the potential and the right footballing fundamental upbringings to hopefully get a 1st TM Call-Up but its still way too soon for it ...!! He still vastly lacks the domestic hoopola for it..! shitt untill a few days ago there werent even any farsy articles about him in the vastly congested domestic football media circles...!!

a more realistic and Sensible approach to attain Senior TM first call-up for him coulda/shoulda been a more immediate Call up to TM-U levels Team...!
such would have been a far more plausible and realistic objective to achieve First ...and then blowing it up for Omid TM coulda easily facilitated his progress into Senior TM...! but then again with IFF hiring every inexperienced and useless, tom, dick or harry ex-footballer as OmidTM head coaches , Fat chance of him getting noticed and going it this route either..!!:/

            ps
from my vague recollections, kid also seems awful injury prone ..!!? wouldnt be a surprise if he gets crooked and sidelined with frequent features at such high levels of football..!?? and then there goes outa door all those prospects..!!☝️

When you start ditching your Iranian name and I guess not knowing Persian, it doesn't look good for a future TM.

Now he is shining (Someone was even speaking about shining in Europa league against Liverpool), why Spain and specially Germany (who is in a very bad situation in senior and U levels) won't call him?

Ralph is also an Iranian name. Ralph was Bardya's brother (in law).

He looks like his dad lol

Eckert is a German surname, Ayensa is Spanish... Hence he took both parents last names

He didn't change his name... I think his dad's mom is Iranian (his grandmother on dads side)

Regardless of if he's 25% Iranian or 50%, we need to call him up ASAP and get him capped. He is a future star player

There are guys like Lucas Zelarayan who is Argentine with some Armenian heritage and now he plays for Armenia. Does he know any Armenian? Hell no

Eckert needs to be called up! He will be such a difference maker for team melli

                      I corrected it. Thanks.

Yeah, I laugh at those people saying he is not Iranian enough or whatever. If he has some Iranian blood, it means he can represent Iran.

Look at Fereydoon Zandi. Biggest German dude before he came to Iran but then he came to Iran and is now the biggest Irooni ever lol

His name could be Kaiser Soze for all I care.
Get the man a call up.
Then we can see if he can gel with the team.

Take love of nationality and all that stuff out of it for the sake of argument….even from a footballing perspective, every player dreams to play in a WC. He is not going to do it with Spain and Germany, with Iran he will do it and be a key player. It’s a no brainer for him….IFF needs to get their sh!t together and get him his Iranian passport ASAP. He would have massive implication on our ability to make a run in the AC in January as well.

Why Germany which is in a complete downfall wouldn't be an option for him, specially if he follow Boniface route?

For all I care we may go for the more padeshahani route and chose Koorosh, Ashkan, Khashayar and the likes! I just think Abolfazl is funnier. Yadollah is good too! Yerai=Yadollah.

Dariush Yadollah Eqbali. There we have it!
