And also dadash… names like Azmoun/Taremi don’t hold so much weight anymore at age 30 and zero achievement in any big league or int’l tournament. I pray to every religion’s god we don’t have anymore Taremi/Azmoun and instead more Daei/Mahdavikia/Nekounam.

And for Moghanlou. He was invited because he was/is the leading scorer in IPL. Yes, not a top league. But the "I" in "IPL" stands for Iran. Guess which national team he plays for. Yes, he would be a poor choice for Spain, but that is not where he was invited to.

I'm a bona fide Mahdavikia fan and he was always my favourite legionnaire of all time. His one man tour de force against Juventus was for me the best individual CL performance by an iranian player
