I logged on to PFDC just so I can read comments about why the match between Sepahan and Al Ittihad got postponed. Before doing so I YouTube’d it and watched photos of a fucking statue built of Soleimani, and placed right at the entrance of the players’ walkout tunnel.

I honestly don’t understand how stupid a club must be, to allow and include presenting a statue of a political figure in a football match, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with football. And not only that, they present this asshole’s statue in a continental tournament. As if it’s even relevant to Sepahan.

As much as I despise IRI (and all the freakin Abrahamic religions), the KSA team is in the wrong. Soleimani was a military person. He did not make policy, he executed them. In US, there are always military personnel, vets etc, who are honored at games. Most of these vets participated in wars of aggression against other countries. There are Air Force flyovers at stadiums. There are stadiums, streets, and airports named after JFK (a war criminal himself). Should Vietnamese refuse to play there, land at the airport, or not take the route going through JFK blvd?!!! , How about stuff named after Bush Sr and Jr, Reagan, etc. Not to mention MBS himself who is a war criminal.

There should be one standard, and only one standard. Yes, I prefer it if his statute was not there. I prefer it if the pictures of men in ammameh were not there. But there should be ONE standard. Not one for Iranians and one for everyone else!!
