His link up play with Dybala is nice , some
good chemistry too there. He needs to improve that first touch though, it’s not all the time.
when he was played through before he got subbed off the ball was behind him, he did well to get it in his stride but needed to be stronger.
Positives:
- drew penalty
- almost assist
- looks speedy and sharp
Negatives:
- shows he can't fill in the Lukaku role (as BacheLot said, Azmoun's hold-up play is not impressive at all).
- not fully trusted by coach (De Rossi subbed him off for Lukaku up 2-1, revealing that he did not trust an Azmoun-led attack to protect the win)
He needs more goals and assists to his name this coming month before Abraham comes back.
Very good shift from him regardless. The pk was win was huge and showed his impact. Makes it sweeter that he was on the pitch when Dybala netted that wonder strike.

Torino are a physical side and usually tough opponent, so this is a good win. Good that he contributed with PK and unlucky kristensen couldn’t finish off his nice setup. That run in behind and intelligence to lay it off perfectly is what his game is all about.
He is not really a post-up player, dzyuba was doing that role at zenit. It’s good that he is having to improve that part of his game though. But hopefully the staff and team continue to recognize the kind of passes/interplay he thrives on and adapt their game to that when he’s up top.
hope he finishes the season strong. They won’t be keeping lukaku long term so there is a spot there for sardar to compete with abraham next season, although I still think it will take some months for him to fully get integrated this
btw of interesting note, former zenit youth product saba sazonov gave away the pk tonight on sardar. He left zenit the year before sardar joined to dynamo Moscow, and moved this past summer to Torino for
around EU 3 million. The other best player in RPL besides sardar during his time there, nikola vlasic is a key player for Torino now after he never really settled at west ham. Plus of course sardar.
this was Russian league that some say not good enough for likes of Ghorbani, hosseinNejad, taheri.

I do still worry that if Abraham comes back Azmoun will relegate to third option, unless he really starts to put numbers up.
glad he’s getting rotated into games right now, Serie A much more enjoyable watch than the other leagues our players are in.
^^^^
AK8 also made it to Bayern from Ahli of UAE, what is the point here? Lol
Generally speaking Russian league compare to their ranking had hard time to send talents to top leagues! Alan ke dige badtar with no European competition!

I still agree with his point that calling Russian League "not good enough" for our players' first step into Europe, is just plain wrong... It's delusional tbh.
It's a WAY stronger League than IPL, our players get good minutes and it still exports more talent than IPL.
It's actually a great place to start so you can actually play regularly, stay fit for national team and still make a move bigger League eventually.

My point re sazanov was he just another example of a young player from RPL to go to top league in past transfer window (with zakharyan to real sociedad).
probably next spertsyan, tiknizyan will go to serie A also.
Is it a guarantee? No, but if the guys are young enough and are shining they will typically get solid opportunities, even despite war/sanctions on RPL.
anyways, instead what is a talent like hosseinNejad doing? Rotting on sepahan bench for likes of asadi and norafkan
