Lukaku is excepted to cost them some $14-15 mil just for (1)this season with no option of signing or renewing his loan ..!
So chances are , barring injury or sever lack of form Mou/Roma is going to ride his ass hard & long till the wheels fall off ..!
that’ll definitely going to limit the minutes afforded to Sardar ..!
Belloti or others don’t really pose much of threat to Sardar in a pure CF/target striker role. He is a far more capable of goal-getter than Belloti could ever hope to be ..!
al sharawy is more of a winger & the rather injury prone & fragile Dybala best suited to 10 position..!
For now Sardar should still keep his focus on improving his fitness & stamina & try to have impactful sub appearances..!
ps
i still expecting him to come off the bench again the league fixtures coming up but with increasing time afforded ..!
Agge betarkooneh off the bench then that’ll really help him getting himself established as a starter in this team much faster..! Otherwise it’ll be longer than we expected when he joined Roma ..!
an injury to Lukaku could also be a huge break for him on that front ..

Roma Newcomer Looking to Earn Permanence at the Club

Sardar Azmoun recently made his Roma debut after joining on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer. His agent Andrea Pellegatti dished on his move and mindset to Sportitalia.“His goal is to do well to stay put since the Giallorossi have an option to buy. He fit right in. He always dreamed of being coached by José Mourinho. It’s an important objective for him. It’s now up to him to bounce back after a tough reason. Surely, the club gave everything he needed to succeed.”
“Roma often play with 3-5-2, and Azmoun is versatile and can star either as a no.9 or play next to Romelu Lukaku a few meters back. He can feature along with Paulo Dybala, Andrea Belotti, Tammy Abraham, or Stephan El Shaarawy too.”
Pellegatti expounded on the influence of Mourinho.“The Giallorossi are a great side, and he always loved Italy. He chose to come here because of the Special One. A few foreign outfits, especially English ones, had inquired. He was a bargain considering his Champions League experience.”
“The arrival of Lukaku was positive for him too because it increased the technical level. They need to compete on three fronts and, since they use a two-man attack, they went in this direction. He’s a high-caliber forward who raises the bar.”
Azmoun wasn’t included by Roma in the first UEFA list.“I would never dare to comment on the choices of the team.”

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Here's what would've happened if Lukaku didn't join Roma. Sardar would've been included in the europa league + he would've start by now.
Btw. They play with 1 striker and The other one is normally a winger. Either Dybala or Shaarawy

He looks a lot more in shape so regardless of whether he is a bench player for Bayer or Roma, it's better in the long term to be fit
Alonso is a fantastic coach but seems like Sardar really wanted to work with Mourinho
The rest now is up to him

One thing for sure is that he had less competition in bayer compared to roma. + he would've had tha chance to play in europa league.
I dono i feel like Mou got him back for what he did last year. But i'm also sure Mou will give him some minutes.
