Mou is a genius. He knows if he ignores Azmoun and doesn't play him, then Azmoun will be more hungry and focused on soccer rather than volleyball or horses.

If he isn’t getting game time by the winter transfer window then I wonder if there is a clause in the loan deal for it to be cancelled so he can go on loan somewhere else or be sold.
He is at an age now where he needs to be playing every game. Rather see him at a lower or mid table top 5 league team getting games.

Mourinho isn’t silly though. His job is at risk, the fans were fully behind bringing Lukaku in and he has scored 7 goals for them already. He can’t risk losing the fans too so he will play Lukaku every minute, even if he only had one leg.

The other position is one that is up for grabs if Dybala is injured but unlucky for Sardar that Belotti has come into form. He scored 0 goals in 31 league games last season.

Agreed Sardar is 100% surplus. Seems like Mou might not have thought Lukaku signing was guaranteed when he signed Sardar and now it’s sort of just filing in for potential injuries given the heavy playing volume the starters are expected to have.

The excuse that sardar is not fit is BS. He is fit and he can play, but as others said he is 100% surplus. According to TM and SW Tammy abraham will be back in april and this means that even more competition for sardar.

I still think he made a huge mistake moving to roma, when actually xabi alonso liked him and gave him good play time (1000 minutes) . Keep in mind that sardar was also used as False 9 so he had more chance to play in bayer (europa league) than this shitty roma team.

He should already start planning to move to another team. I feel like sardar is becoming the new Zlatan. Zlatan had a dream to play in barcelona and that Dream became "nightmare", the same scenario is happening to sardar.

game was way too early in AM for me to wake up for ....(not even knowing if he'd get enough minutes worth waking up early for..!! )
but watching the highlight reels your assessment looks spot on ..! ☝️

although Monza were a man down for over a half the game, they still looked a hungrier side and pushed for win more so that the supposed home team Roma...! they had so many more solid efforts on Roma's goal which the keeper managed to parry away barely..!
from my limited viewing of the prior games, Mou's team still looking soft AF especially in CDM/CM their whole 3back system just isnt looking well organized and stout enough to withstand bigger challenges from more formdable opponents..... (Ndikta kid on the LCB is the only one who looks sufficiently skilled and able for the role..!)

hard to judge from highlight reels .... but Sardar looked a bit tired and wasnt really participating full heartedly in their defensive pressing but he was his usual sharp and effective in the final 3rd of the pitch sharp passing and shooting on goal and overall a very positive impact sub ...!!
this was a big win for Roma in order to push them in the top half of the table and hopefully when they get some key players fit and hopefully sardar hits his strides and gets more minutes ...hopefully they will start to look more of formidable side in Serie A able to make legitimate push for the Top4 finish and UCL football..!!? for now though they just dont look the part ..!!
