Some players are just not 90min work horses. Sardar is a Fernando Torres type of player. He is very lethal in bursts but cannot produce for 90min straight.

Sardar Is deffo 90min+ player but only as a striker, where he doesn't need to do any defending and physical activity . Mou wants him to join DF line and thats the main problem.

Most professional teams refuse to play their CF for 90 minutes unless he is some physical phenom in his early 20s. Very few high pressing teams have front line players that can go for 90 minutes. Sardar is actually playing for a team that does not press the ball that much and believes in CQ style zone defending. Problem is they insist on playing the ball up and without Dybala there to break the pressure they are not very good at it. When he comes in down a goal, with a few minutes left on the clock, he is obviously under instructions to run his butt off to try to create something. So yes, he gets winded. I do not get all this negativity about a guy who is clearly one of the fastest players in the squad and can out jump everyone and has a nice touch on the ball.

Milad, yet again you show ignorance of modern football.

I ask of you: show me a team in the EPL whose striker does not play defense (i.e. pressure off the ball)? This is part of modern football. Maybe other (lesser) leagues have strikers who sit like a flagpole. Even Lewan plays D for Barca!

Sardar could start on Saturday vs. Napoli.

By the way Roma's next 4 matches in the league are huge ones:

            Napoli @ home Dec. 23
            Juve away Dec. 30
            Atalanta @ home Jan. 7
            Milan away Jan 14

The Atalanta match will probably be the last for Sardar before he heads for the AC.

And there will be a Coppa Italia match vs. Cremonese (Serie B side) at home on January the 3rd.

…and a hat trick for Patrik Schick in first half of yesterday’s match. He was in much worse shape than Sardar last season, but has 6 goals in 9 games this season. Like Belotti limited minutes but still scoring.

Italian media reports are worth less than toilet paper.

unless they are printed on toilet paper, in which case they have the same value.

Its not early. 11 games, 1 goal, can’t play more than 30 minutes. What anyone expected? This is worth €10+m to anyone? He was brought in to replace Shomurodov (nothing special) and he’s not even close to matching his production (5G+6A in 40 games, 8 starts).

Not fair assessment. Half of those apps were garbage time minutes with just a bit of time left. His only meaningful minutes I.e 30min + to play, his presence on the field was palpable in Roma’s offense. He didn’t necessarily score or assist in for instance the game with the late goal from El Sharawy but indirectly led to the goal. Another example is the buildup play he contributed to in Dyabalas goal or of course his own header. Anyone who actually watches his minutes can easily see he brings an extra threat to the offense as opposed to the other strikers he competes with. Don’t fall prey to lousy statistics, which is so problematic in football and sports in general these days.

Some contribution here and there and a pass, wow. And thanks for reminding me about football history. You know back in the day, goals weren’t as important and players like Ronaldo Nazario didn’t score goals to make their names. Now we have such high expectations.

There are members who are literally bah bah chah chahing a professional for completing a pass or sprinting with fresh legs. Standards have changed huh? Not too long ago in Russian League he was one considered of the best strikers in the world by pfdc. Better than Osimhen, this player, that player. Few months ago he was better than Lukaku. Chi shod?
