he shoulda been brought on at least in the 2nd half of OT .... honestly he coulda well bagged an assist or even a goal for them to win it b4 pks as Roma looked scared and spent and were hufNpuffin waiting for PK Shootout..!!
it sure aint wise to bring on a player with less than a minute left just for taking a stressful situation pk ..!! slot definitely has some blame to shoulder for that missed pk ..!

tbh, i also have never figured arj to be all that great of a PK taker anyhow, although he has certainly scored more vital PKs than he has missed ...!! im always nervous when he steps up for dispatch a vital PK..!!
the big positives with him as pk taker is his strong mentality and confident approach and vigor... the negatives for me has always been him trying Way too hard to get Overly Fancy footed /RicoSuave with his touches on the ball... from shots, dribble attempts to crosses to sometimes even a simple fkn short tap passes to an open teammate ...!! instead of just get stuck-in and get on with the damn play.. i think he thinks he is Cristiano or tries too hard to be ...?

anyways today's missed attempt was overall more of good save by keeper than a bad PK miss by him ..!
woulda much preferred had he stepped back a few more yards, (again instead of trying too hard to go for style points by standing right next to the ball) Picked a damn corner and hit a solid but accurate shot towards it..!!
i dont give a fk who the goalie maybe and how great his reflexes maybe or he maybe in PK saves .... if you just hit a solid velocity, low shot (even if a ground roller) to about 1ft or less inside of each goal post.... 95% of the time the ball goes in, whether the keeper guesses right and dives well to save it....& if you wanna slightly increase your scoring chances then i suggest going for the left corner of the goal if keeper is right footed and the opposite if its against a left footed keeper .... and if you wanna get closer to 99% goal then you risk a more difficult attempt of lifting up your shot up a bit to upper corners of the goal..!

I never understood the concept of bringing on a cold player in the last seconds of the game who hasn't really been involved in the tempo of the game only to take a penalty shot. A high percentage of these shots are usually wasted. This was a coaching mistake more than anything else.

But ... I do agree with JHB trying everything the hard way. We saw so much of that at the Asian Cup, unfortunately!

                  March 7 - Brighton
                  March 10 - Fiorentina
                  March 14 - Brighton
                  March 17 - Sassuolo

4 matches in 10 days yet TM complains about lack of rest. Either way, good thing they went through cuz azmoun will definitely get some valuable time given this schedule. Hopefully, Abraham doesn’t come back before this 4-game stretch.

This is an apples and oranges comparison.

Club and international football are two different things, compounded by the fact that one is a national team "funded" by federation run by idiots in a heavily sanctioned country competing in a single tournament with ridiculous scheduling, the other is a wealthy football club competing for honours in multiple competitions that has resulted in the fixture congestion and that their domestic league will move games to accommodate that.

Also he has employed private physiotherapist trainer of dybala/paredes and many other argentine NT stars in private capacity for fitness/strength conditioning. Good to see he finally taking that aspect more seriously, only took 12 years of pro ball...

He's posting his workouts on his IG stories. He's locked in 😎 Love to see it!

The investment you make with a good private trainer and dietician yields so much value if you have the means. Health is number one priority

Sardar was being a professional by using his knowledge to help his team win.. fairly.

Alireza was crying over missing a penalty which is unusual in a club setting. Sardar went over as a friend after the game to console him.

Professional during the game. Friend after the game. Sardar's a winner!
