Again he doesn't have a defender mentality as he never been a defender until recently, he needs more time, however, he has been great of what he has been asked to do
To my memory, that applies to domestic cup games also?
So this is his last game before the Asian cup
You're sort of half right. He will miss the next match, which is Wolves in the FA Cup only because he'll likely be in international duty... Otherwise his suspension starts on the next League game against Forest on 20th Jan because a suspension due to accumulation of cards in league games only applies to league matches. Suspensions for straight reds and retrospective action apply to all domestic games.
He'll be back, hopefully not before mid February by which point Hickey will be back and covering the left side so he'll be competing with Roerslev at RB/RWB. This could be the end of his run of starting games.
On the errors. I think this is his worst that he'll rightly be called out for. He was not blamed much for the Havertz one due to the quality of the ball, movement of Havertz and the time in the game. This was probably his worst mistake of this whole run of games. Again, a majority of the team have been a let down. They need more first team players back urgently ahead of the next League game against Forest. Fortunately for them it's not for 3 weeks.
Shit mistake on the goal but had a really strong second half. Forced a good save from the gk, put in some excellent crosses, and was very smart in possession.
this was a great run for him in the side. Unfortunately it came as brentford lost key players up front which really has prevented them from getting many points in this stretch.
On the bright side he is in the best shape, form, and confidence he has been since his ostersunds days. A huge bonus for TM heading into AC.
and while he may not be a starter like this upon his return he has certainly cemented his position as a more regular rotation option, semi-frequent starter moving forward
Also re the backpost mistake its one of the most common for fullbacks to make, particularly offensive minded ones (even ones who are specialists in the position). Zinchenko makes similar mistakes every single week for arsenal, has costed big goals and points this season, bellerin did it for years, alexander arnold, and many others. Just on TM ramin, sadegh, and hajsafi are all serial offenders...so no surprise there will be a learning curve for saman who is just learning the role. Sure the coach recognizes that.
Big shame for Saman that his leaving will coincide with Toney coming back in. I think he would he getting a few assists with Toney back in the team.
Also Malkay I hope and think your boys will stay up.
Credit to this guy! Without being outstanding or anything , slowly he found his way to the starting line up!
I have been tough on him but he deserves lots of credit lately!
Hats off
