Ivan Cavaleiro is the big news for Pedro Soares Gonçalves in the Angola team

The Angola coach, the Portuguese Pedro Soares Gonçalves, released this Tuesday the squad list for the Palancas Negras, with a view to the decisive game against Madagascar, on September 7, at Tundavala Stadium, valid for the last round of the Group And qualifying for CAN 2023.
The debut of Ivan Cavaleiro , currently playing for Lille , is the highlight of the squad, which also features Kadú (Oliveira do Hospital), Kialonda Gaspar (Estrela da Amadora ), Beni (Casa Pia), Manuel Keliano (Estrela da Amadora ), Bruno Paz (Konyaspor), Hélder Costa (Leeds United), Depú (Gil Vicente), Lucas João (Shangai Port) and Gelson Dala (Al-Wakrah).

Ivan Cavaleiro, remember, played two games for Portugal's main team in 2014: a friendly against Cameroon and a qualifying game for the European Championship, with Albania.
Even so, FIFA authorized the 29-year-old winger, now at Lille, to change his national team.
The Angolan team will begin their preparations in Luanda, next Monday, September 4th.
At the start of the last round, Ghana leads the group with 9 points, followed by Angola with 8, the Central African Republic with 7 and Madagascar , last placed, with just 2 points.
The top two in each group will qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The following players are perhaps those that could pose a threat on Team Melli's goal.

These friendlies are some of the best for us. Given difficulty organizing games against wealthier countries, we should get in as many opportunities with African countries who have European based players, which are politically more feasible for IR to actually get. Many like that: Gabon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cape Verde

Iran vs Bulgaria is much better friendly IMO. they would probably beat us .

A friendly game against japan and uzbekistan would be great. This angola team is way too kharaki.

Angola would cook Bulgaria. They were dominating Ghana

and then lost to mauritius.... Bro Ghana is not even strong anymore. Ghana is actually gone down the hill after WC. Losing to madagascar , niger and angola .

Both ghana and Angola are considered 2nd tier african teams. Morocco and Egypt (out of african teams) would've been awesome friendly for us. Both teams resemble arabs .

                1St tier african teams are:
                Morocco
                Egypt
                Senegal
                Algeria
                Cameroon
                Tunisia

The rest of them are BS. Japan already got tunisia planned.

African teams can win on any given day. Lots of upsets. Remember we almost lost to a Kenyan team that has been suspended for over a year or something?

No, I agree with Hosseini. African teams are physical, most of their squad are based in Europe.

Look, FFIRI sort of have good relations with Angola, Algeria, Kenya, Tunisia. These four countries are the African countries that Team Melli played the most. Apart from these FFIRI should really try and establish good relations with Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Congo DR, Guinea, Cape Verde. Out of these Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Ghana are really difficult to arrange friendly match with them since they ask for a huge sum of money. Also let's not forget that Ghana (in 1986 Fajr Cup sent their young players, cancelled match in 2006 for political reasons, in 2007 sent U23 team for friendly match, and this time probably asked for a huge fee and used other excuses not to travel to Tehran).

Egypt and Morocco due to politics, Zambia (having an Israeli Head Coach) means we won't see Team Melli face them in friendly matches.

Other countries such as Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania, Niger, Zimbabwe, Uganda would be good too.

For bench players friendlies with Libya, Togo, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Chad, Burundi, Botswana, Congo would really be beneficial.

Iran and egypt signed new tourism deals and are now Considered to be friends. so maybe we should've tried to play friendly against them. The african teams you mentioned are very physical and play some kharaki football that could cause some injury to our players.

Egypt , Morocco , Tunisia , Alegria resemble the arab teams which we will be facing . We don't have any team in AC that has similar features as physical african teams like Angola , Nigeria, Kenya etc... Bulgaria fits the status of SK and Australia but Angola doesn't go with any asian teams.

I think the reason we lose to then in friendly games is cuz our boyz are scared of getting injured against them.

We will most probably face Tajikestan or Krygstan in R16 and then SK/Iraq in QF. I dono why we risking injury playing against a kharaki team like Angola. Bulgaria is probably more physical than SK and sets us up for SK game .

At the moment, wanting good and adequate friendly is like a student doing a maths exercise without having studying the corresponding lesson

Even if Egypt and Iran are improving relations, does not mean that their football federations are establishing relations. Egypt vs Tunisia is same day as Bulgaria vs Iran, and was planned before then.

Bulgaria as you said is good preparation for Australia, other option would have been to arrange friendly with New Zealand which plays similar style of football to Australia but are more defensive than offensive with a low FIFA ranking.

To prepare for South Korea, best option would have been teams that are speedy and fast such as Japan or North Korea. Japan had already pre-arranged friendly matches with Germany and Turkey. North Korea have not played any sport ever since COVID-19 pandemic. China PR would have been another option but already had pre-arranged friendlies with Syria and Malaysia.

Angola is good preparation for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, all have players with either distant African ancestry (case of KSA, UAE, Oman) or African-born immigrants (case of Qatar). Actually despite Angola's low FIFA ranking, their football is higher quality than West Asia's Arab teams (apart from Saudi Arabia).

October Team Melli will be facing Jordan and winner/loser of Qatar vs Iraq, so all those Iranians who dream of Team Melli match with West Asia's Arab teams will come true

I wish to God we play cq qatar in jordan tournament....but if that match happen since
it's also potential semifinal match up do tm show its hand? Remember 2015 beat iraq in friendly lost to to them in qf.
CQ MIGHT GET GENERAL FIRED WITH BAD SCORELINE in jordan.......
