That’s not how it works. The results agains the fourth placed team will not count for the ranking of the second place teams. It will however count for the ranking of the group itself. We had this ourselves a few years ago when Iraq was in our group.

So even if Uzbekistan beats Hong Kong with a two goal difference, we need to beat Afghanistan with a 7 goal difference or 6 if Afghanistan scores two goals as well. 7-1 might be enough as well as long as Uzbekistan doesn’t win with 3-1/4-2 etc and has more yellow/red cards than us.

We need to score 6-7 goals against Afghanistan & hope they somehow beat Hong Kong. Then a tie vs Uzbekistan will probably be enough to at least go through as one of the 4 best 2nd placed teams.

It’s important that Afghanistan beats Hong Kong (If we score more than 3 goals against them that is). Then the result vs Hong Kong won’t count and we can go through with a tie vs Uzbekistan.
