1990 ag was the best, it was right after tm failure in 1990wcq.......
most classic tm game ever semi vs s.k
With gayegran goal in ext...tm should of lost 6-0 in regulation people where giving out shirni agter that win.....that ag was first big accomplishment
since 78 wc appearance people went crazy.

1998 was cool with pourhydari tm head coach my favorite esteghlali of all time ..

2002 was great last major trophy for team melli..
Beating Japan in final after date dad passed away and missed the final was great...

Yes the confidence is lost , addition of
Seyed hossein hossini and Arslan mothering and I think 1 more over age player could have spark on the team...WE PLAY KSA in group.

As we don't work well and won't work well, we will be the first victim of them. Japan and the rest will always find a solution, not us. We are the kingdom of Sabotage, the only positive things we have in our football and country is thanks of the few good will and talents remaining there.

We can live with Japan, SK.. as World football superpower. If Uzbekistan, China, Iraq, Jordan + central asia progress well, we are done.
I agree, eventually it'll bite us in the ass as they'll catch up to us. But my point is I'd rather have Persianate countries progress than the Arab/Turkic countries you've listed (Jordan/Oman/Turkmenistan).

As a Persian speaker, I want to see the likes of Tajikistan and Afghanistan improve, followed by the other CAFA nations (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan). But yes I agree with your point that it's at Iran's hindrance. The only positive would be that it's better competition for us in CAFA competitions.

I agree about the choice if there is a direct play off against let say Tajikistan and Jordan. Otherwise, I don't wish any Cafa (and by extension any other Asian teams) to emerge and develop. Only Iran, and eventually Japan/SK.. when they play in the world stage (their impressive success didn't bring that much fame to Asia football anyways).
Tajikistan or Jordan is the same for me. Now we are out, who will follow closely and support Tajikistan in AFC U23 cup? Personally, I don't care.

During the game it is less painful to lose to Uzbek or Tajikistan than West asian teams. But after the game and the end, it is more painful, specially when some of these CAFA countries (Afghanistan, Tajikistan..) were nothing compared to us.

For AG, why don't they callup the 18yo Salim Toomaj (Fenerbahce, Turkey) who is a striker? He can partner up with Sayyadmanesh upfront.

For wildcard, it would be better to use the maximum (3) instead of 2.

Seyed Hossein Hosseini (GK) has committed. However, they should really think of another 2, perhaps one DF (eg. Abolfazl Jalali) or CDM (Rouzbeh Chesmi) or a winger such as (Mehdi Torabi).

Not much of the General’s fan but it may have been good to give him and his coaching staff the U23 so he gains real tourney experience in preparation for the real senior AFC cup and WC qualifiers. Or would he shoulder out of it in case he fails badly and he gets the sack?

Anyone heard about IFF lodging a complaint about Uzbeki player receiving two yellows but never sent off? TBH i did notice the referee pointing to the player to leave and he started to wlak off but stopped half way and returned to the game. The ref didn't show the red card to him though!

We should forget about U23 after so many failures lol. I mean we always fail and we waste our fifa-windows for the senior TM by not being able to use any U23s…Allayhar, Salmani, Fallah, Hazbavi etc could have been tested in our recent friendlies and gelled with the team before AC…

After U20 just start integrating the players into senior TM.

Yes. Since the last announcement by the U23 staff regarding launching a complaint; I saw the attached official post from ASEAN football claiming Malaysian Federation is still waiting for the final decision of AFC. Here is the post:

Despite all these claims, it doesn’t seem they would reverse the result or impact the game. There is a rumor that there was an incident similar to this and the decision was to play the remainder of the game with one man less on the pitch. However, would this even be possible? Even if possible, would 5 min really help a team that had couple of shots on target only in 90 min and parked a bus like they were playing with Messi and Argentina. The bottom line is: the father of all losses: FEAR which was the character of Enayati’s coaching style!

Or even more. And if the empty net in first half was going to be a goal. These ifs though can go beyond control. For instance if China would have not scored their winning goal against india in 95th min. If Thailand scored more than 1 goals against Malaysia. Just imagine the painful fact is that China and Tajikistan that had inferior results against very weak teams; qualified with +1 and 4 points while Iran stayed out with +4. Now this is corrupted AFC to have the games in a way so easy for match fixing and etc. we only have our management to blame as it shouldn’t even go to counting for goal difference blah blah against a Malaysian team. Jeez how low we have become 😡😱🤦‍♂️

If a player is supposed to be sent off the pitch but carries on playing , it is a serious misconduct. It can have an effect on the final result even if only 5 minutes left to play. Teams come back from being down 1 nil and win the match in injury time. So it would be ridiculous to assume that it wouldn't make any difference. Iran u23 played well and isn't a weak team in the tournament.

I agree bro. Our players are great and deserve to even qualify to Olympics but our technical staffs, coaching, federation and government in general suck. Beside that. AFC is corrupted bro. I hope something positive comes outta AFC but I doubt. Cheers
