Drawing fouls is good in football if it means the other team gets a yellow card for stopping a promising attack. If one of those Bulgarian players happen to be already on a caution, they would be done. Both yellow cards were tactical fouls in nature which shows he was creating opportunities. Plus when you're up, drawing fouls from the opponent is helpful because it allows the game to slow down and recollect the team as needed

These are the little things that amount to winning games and are separate from goals or assists but still contribute to a team effort

He is the top striker in our league for the last two years. Fast, strong, physical, good in the air. Some Euro experience. It would insane to drop him because of two of unsatisfying performances against Russia and Kenya

You praise him for drawing two fouls (which mean Little in football outside the danger zone... it's not basketball). I point out that he committed double that himself. Plus he got a yellow which is significant problem. You then refuse to admonish him?

Someone here commented that he was lucky he didn't get a red card. We have disciplinary problems historically and yellow is a problem in tournament football too.

As for committing fouls, when you're up 1-0 and playing for win, playing cynical football to win games helps you win. That means fouling (in places that don't give the opponent attacking opportunities, unless it's 100 percent necessary) to stop promising attacks early or slowing down the game as well. Being a saint on the field never wins you games

I repeat 3 yrs ago!!!!
He couldn't put up more than 5-6 goals in league each year since and was injured often!

Abdi is my preferred choice to get a call up for striker. He is a proper 9 that we can use instead of Azmoun. Or Allahyar is a good striker if we put him up front and put someone else on wings like Gholizadeh

This forum has turned into crazy-talk, when it comes to TM.

I can't believe the kind of trash-football from TM that I am seeing in this modern era of football. Unfortunately, I can believe the ridiculous, uncultured explanations from our members, here.

Mog is simply awful Some of you defend him due to his experience as a scorer in PGPL? So what? On the international level, he is worse than ineffective; he is a liability.

You want to praise him for scoring against Bulgaria, and use that to make us forget his previous international performances? WHAT? Bulgaria is the equivalent of a guaranteed win for most teams in the world not named "St. Kits", or "Faroe Isles".

It's not just Mog.. the TM selection is ass-backwards and does nothing to develop for WC 2026, where, as things stand right now, we are going to exit the group stage with the worst combined "goals-against" ever for TM, and the oldest average age ever for a WC squad. Probably mostly consisting of PGPL players.

I think with inclusion of Jalali, Allahyar, Gholi, maybe Yasin depending to kind of seadon he will have, we may have a chance to make some damage in AC , Japan still remain our main rival, i believe the rest are beatable with right game plan.
What i did like about GN so far is he didn't BS about playing attacking football!
Regarding strikers it doesn't matter if it is Moghanlou, Zahedi, Asadi, mamad agha sim kesh, at the end the big 2 play main role and GN will most likely use Mohebbi, Allahyar, Gholi next to them if the other strikes dont convince him!

the most impressive accomplishment of GN's spell to me has been the so Few Goals Conceded so far, in that often wide open backline with wingbacks frequently pressing so high upfield..! often even the CBs..!

yet considering the supposedly hoojoomi tarkib o strategy, his TM has been relatively toothless and ineffective still in the final 3rd of the pitch and the goal production rate has been so measly (especially considering the generally tokhmy levels of competition) that im not so sure it warrants the huge risks of opening ourselves so much defensively..!!

regardless of pgl form , i'd still rate Zahedi as the better of the 3 scrub prospects mentioned above, with far higher ceiling and potential..!! and even if we judging by high workrate, defensive hustle and general involvement ... id still rate even Asadi higher than often clueless and useless Moghanlou so far in TM..! Moghanlou has so far shown literally NO Attacking Threat whatsoever as a supposed CF..!!
Although Final product is clearly lacking with Asadi and so is the class and composure to apply the right finishing touches in and around the box, Assadi has at least positioned himself much better in the attacking half and beyond and gotten far better attacking chemistry with others around him....!! and i'd argue his defensive, pressing and general work-rate has been superior to moghanlou too..!!

imo, GN still needs to experiment with Zahedi or a different 3rd striker prospect..! none of these guys are even close to Sardar/Taremi levels..!
