Oghabe farsinejad jan, indeed your are right. I think key issue for Iran is beating these teams. But I would not add Korea to that list. With Korea we are very comfortable playing against. Australia and Japan are the worst. We dont play them often and our team are not as familiar with them anymore. This is the biggest issue imho. We have always stood up against Japan in a good way, but it was back in the days when we actually competed against them more often.

We did get the win at the end but i think this game exposed something that GN can use moving forward. The lineup of azmoun taremi mohebi ARJ ghoddos needs to be tweaked. There was no link between the CBs and the attack. Most of the game was spent passing the ball between Shoja, PAG/Kanani, Beiro, Ramin and then we would somehow bezan ziresh our way into an attack. Ghoddos is really good at the TM level but he’s no Xavi and can’t handle the entire playmaking duty. Not sure what the solution is because it’s not like we have great midfield quality but I hate watching the same bezan ziresh football every time there’s a TM game when we have absolute quality in our two strikers. This same problem occurred under Skocic and if we unlock it, we could genuinely become the best team in Asia by far.

used to be a CQ admirer ... and normally woulda felt bad for him today... but he really infuriated me during WC with his nonsensical, kiri starting line-ups ..!! he is a good (defensive) coach but way too hard-headed yek-dandeh o susceptible to take pity revenge against players/folks who supposedly have crossed him in the past or (even those who he deems didnt go outa their way to kiss his asss or defend him in media) doing absolutely ignorant revenge actions/team selections even if so @ expense of the whole team..!
more so than the Mahsa protests, CQ fked us at WC22 with bizzare or flat out ignorant tactics and starting line-ups ..!!

GN may well not be a good Tactician nor even a coach ... but he sure AF knows how to Pick a good team and at least start the game with a sensible starting line-up selection in a reasonably well positioned places..!!

at he doesnt Beat Ourselves B4 even the match has begun by playing pity favorites and ignorant starting selection..!!

i think much credit for today's resounding win must be given to that Italian homeboy on our sidelines giving seemingly sound tactical advice on the sidelines to our boys...!!
