My take was that the players were told not to celebrate goals because of the Palestinian situation (and esp just next door). They might have already heard about the hospital attack too.

I think Kanaani started running and right away he was being reminded to stop his celebration. He just didn't give a rat's arse.

The other goal scorers, and even Kanaani for his 2nd goal, were subdued.

I think all players didn't want celebrate because of cq.....kanani just didn't give sh1t.......

His been through a lot last couple years.
beside everything, GENERAL THROW HIM UNDER THE BUS AND BLamed him for tm losing to japan.
cq never blamed him for that in public but general did. Then to get bench meaning the defense of mistakes against jordan was his fault had just happen.
then to score in adead lock match on a cq coached team, the man who
benched HIM AT WC iand cost him new contract.., kanani is only human.....but definitely he is black sheep of team melli

Kanani is very talented CB, not only because his 2 goals today! The guy is full package but he is wasted, stupid and little kid!
I rather to go with Shoja and PAG(if he is healthy before) for AC!

As I said for the last game, it was a friendly so we shouldn't put too much weight on it, but here are my thoughts:

- See how much less attacks we allow when someone like Hajisafi isn't our LB? Milad actually covers and runs back and plays as a defender first and foremost. Yeah he has a bad touch and isn't a great forward player but he defends.

- Saman is one of GN's favorites. People seem to go out of their way to avoid giving credit to GN for using him properly. I still don't think Saman will be used in matches where we are the "underdogs", but when we want to move forward he is excellent. Even defensively he was really good and we didn't have a massive black hole in our mid like we usually do.

- I looked ad that Beiranvand foot dribble and foul situation again. I don't think he was trying to dribble. His first touch to receive the ball was poor, and he wanted to make a quick pass after to save himself. His cleat got stuck on the pitch and messed him up more and he had to foul to avoid further damage.

- I hope PAG is ok, but that looked like a very bad injury and he knew right away.

- JB minus his one goal and one almost assist (to Azmoun) was really quite poor. I try not to think of him as a consistent player anymore. He is all about brief moments.

- Nice to see JB and Azmoun both score with their left foot.

- The things alot of you guys want (more young players, faster style of play...) are not something that can be implemented or solved in a TM level. These have to be resolved at club level and then TM youth level.

- We played well in both halves and the negative hysteria by some fans was too much.

- We clearly have a style of play (quick transitions, move the ball up quick, play the ball out from the back...) and tactics. To infer otherwise is unfair.

This was a good test for B tier Asian teams.
We still need bigger and better matches to really know how we'll do against Asian and eventually world elite.

We have qualifiers in November, and then a couple of friendlies in Winter without our legionnaires. Let's see what changes if any can be made.

For me this would be ideal TM if everyone was healthy:

We won but again the DF wasn't really tested . I think our games against Uzbekistan will show if our DF line is any good. We will be exposed badly by the uzbeks . GN needs to really think about those fast counter attacks that our DF and MD line fail to stand.

They have been really great over past few months (for asian level). I see them taking that number 3/4 spot . I also see them qualifying to world cup.

The way i see it right now is :

Exactly defense was not tested.

In azadi either....they don't have the balls to attack us like the way they did on their home turf, it's azadi field of death.
the defense is number 1 concern and unfortunately only time it will get truely tested will be qf of ac.
