Feel really bad for PAG. He has always been stable and a true patriot, working hard for TM and putting in shifts that got us to the spot we are in today. The documentary going over his recovery from his injury was something I watched just a couple weeks ago, so to see this was a real heartbreak. No one deserves this. Praying for him 🙏🏻

As always, thanks for your spot on and highly detailed, perceptive analysis

Bad game vs Jordan, frankly somewhat lucky to win with the amount of fuck ups in the back. Did improve considerably vs Qatar, although first half was pretty poor. At least defensively and in possession we were sharper. Obviously boys were more motivated in front of CQ.

Regarding GN: His list was decent and overall there were some patterns of play that you could see more developed compared to previous camps. Like that he takes a back seat and let manicone do most of the in game coaching. Clearly he got the reaction he wanted following shitty jordan game. Still think there are too many ezafi moftkhors around TM atm (Azizi and Hooman, seriously...?) Tactically I still do not think playing a 442 vs korea+ sides is the way to go. Yes, Azmoun and Taremi are closer together but a midfield of Saeid and Saman alone will get overran. There must be a 3rd profile in there, this will also allow saman to show his creativity even more. IMO hosseinnejad can be that guy, maybe even Ghorbani from sepahan but GN waited too long to introduce them into the frame so it will probably be nour...

Players: Saman cemented himself as a starter, thank god for that. Good game vs Qatar, on and off the ball, following up with his good performance in more advanced role vs Bulgaria last camp. Saeid will be a starter too. Ultimately we have no better DM and he is putting in consistent performances now in danish top flight, just selected in totw. Yeah, he has glaring deficiencies but that is what it is. The other options there are much worse. Hopefully he continues to build up fitness in the next couple months pre AC. Still as slow as ever...

Mohebbi and ARJ wide were quite dissapointing. Both imo should be subs only at this stage. For wingers I put fit torabi and gholizadeh ahead of them.

Sardar looks much more fit (thx mou) and very active in the press vs Qatar, nice goal from him. I think with dybala injury he should get more mins this month and hopefully some goals to really be confident heading into AC.

Injury to PAG is not a huge concern although disappointing for the player. CB should be 2 of Kanani, Majid, Hazbavi. They have the most speed and that is something TM defense clearly lacks. Ramin had good games, although these are always the kind of matches he has been fine in. Offensively he gets involved and has a great cross. He is exposed on the other end, in transition, in 1v1 situations vs top wingers. Prefer Moharrami in those matches. Situation for RB is stable. LB is not very stable, but milad after what feels like 4 years finally made positive TM contribution. He has been rotating with Hajsafi at AEK and hopefully can gain some more confidence pre AC.

Moving forward: Hope GN is not stubborn with 442 vs top sides, it wont work. 433 is the best option there and eliminates need for one non-productive extra winger like mohebbi. In group stage matches, probably ro16 442 is fine.

Would like to see continued calls for hazbavi, hosseinnejad, and think ghorbani deserves a callup as CDM option also since we are short there. I guess he will still give backup DM spot to cheshmi though.

I have no issues calling out JB having a bad match, but yesterday was not bad.

He had a goal, some good moves and through balls, and defensively brought what none of other wingers bring. That's key when you a have defensively weak Rezaian behind you.

Our attacking lineup was very good, except we need someone more creative and intelligent than Mohebbi on the other wing.

The dopamine that comes from watching team Melli score lots of goals is unparalleled. Looking forward to the qualifiers next month

J.b disappears in big matches nowhere to be found....only during skocic Era he came to life.

in essence, CQ pretty much sacrificed the wc glory for our country in order stroke his own supposedly bruised Huge ego..!! he done this shitt many times before... as you mention with Seyed Jalaal, AK8, FFS even CR7..!!

Kannani and Khalilzadeh were the defensive pillars that qualified us to the WC22 AND IMO FULLY DESERVED TO START AND CARRY US THROUGH IT..!
When he didn't invite seyed he lost many pp fans supports. He was enemy 1 to pp fans and he is still bashed.....if cq name was mentioned in a positive way on pp chat rooms hell would break out..... tm hc can not lose the support of pp or ss fans if he wants to survive this already exteremly difficult job.
general get the respect of old timers pp fans because he played for Shahin, and practiced with pp.he is loved by ss fans, and sepahan fans ,and tt fans ,you can say he is most loved tm head coach since CHIRO.

I think you’ve nailed it. 442 with two wingers and ezza and saman is very awkward. 433 with one of JB/Mohebi/Gholi up top would be great and that way we can add another actual midfielder like Nourafkan, Ehsan, Cheshmi or Hosseinnejad to Ghoddos and Ezza in the midfield which would hopefully stabilize the midfield and help us in our transitions from defense to offense so we don’t have to watch beiro kanani and shoja play one touch all game with splashes of BEZAN ZIRESH

Why are we acting like it’s normal that the Italian assistant coach is literally standing on the side of pitch while ghalenoi sits on bench ? Is this normal for a coach to chill while his helper is the one giving directions? Not complaint, just curious about this relationship

Lol when saeid kicks the ball at Qatar player near end of game while he’s down

Yes it is normal from general generation. He is last dinosaur left.
General is ali parvin mini me.
PARVIN would never leave his seat no matter what. Nasser fergueson would stand side of the pitch.....general is trying to have that charisma which he dose......I am even surprise to see him stand up once in a while....if I recall correctly during asian cup 2007 ,nasser Ferguson was on team melli side line standing...
                        Nasser furguson is nasser ibrahimi.

Cheers bro. Thanks for mentioning his real name at end, I wouldn’t have know. This generation from the 80-early 90s I truly know nothing about. Knowing this background makes general even cooler. I like his vibe. Italian guy seems to know what he’s doing too

Nasser Ferguson was teammelli head in 1984 ac.
But since persians can't forgive this genius never
really became hc again and always was used as assistant.
                              in 1984 semifinal against ksa
Iran was up 1-0 then and he subed out nasser mamadkhani and to ferguson back like iran scored an own goal 89th minute game went to ot and pks.
then he subed the main goali for his back up goali
For pk shoot outs and tm lose on .CURSE OF FERGUSON ya TELESMEH IBRAHIMI for tm started then ever since then tm has not won ac pk shoot outs in an elimination match.

Nasser Ferguson was scared to come back to tehran as fans were mad at him... he made a famous QUOTE at the airport "MAN ESHTEBAH KARDAM" Donna varzesh o keyhan varzesh front page was ibrahimi picture "man eshtebah kardam". he coached Shaina f.c every game fans
would chant man eshtebah kardam in stadiums.
Fans couldn't forgive him. And This genious became assistent coach for rest of his career.couldnt take the fans heat mentally.... PERSIAN FANS ARE CRUEL.

It's a bit odd, isn't it? He always has a lot to say during his interviews but he comes across as awfully meek on the touchline.

Knowing how insecure and egotistical he is, I'm surprised he was happy to let the Italian guy to up him.
