Kanaani played a part in that disaster no doubt. But CQ played the biggest part. His tactical approach for the Japan game was an absolute disgrace. He played them like they were Brazil and it cost us the game. CQ is 99,5% responsible for our exit, Kannani 0,5%.

Missing Mehdi due to stupid fkn suspension was the biggest blow (i think we were already winning 3-zip vs chin when ref cautioned mehdi for a rather kiri soft foul which led to his suspension) for us in that loss followed by CQ bizarrely decide to play and open attacking game vs the mighty japan..!!
off course everyone wants to blame the retarded bombrush of the ref for the no-call that led to japan's first goal as the obvious reason for the loss but tbf we had little to no chance of beating japan w/o MT9 ... especially so trying to go at them mano a mano with the unfamiliar and vastly haphazard tokhmy CQ supposed attacking scheme of play..!!

tbf, also that embarrassing total collapse in semis was proceeded with the typical IFF shithouseries of late payment to coaches and many other associated mindfkng controversies and also CQ was put under immense pressure to play a more Offensive Football as the usual suspect haters GN/Brangoh/azizi types were bitching too much about his ultra conservative and boring TM playing style ..!

TM actually certainly tried a more open and offensive approach to that AC....did so somewhat successfully in groups and 1/4final vs kiri opponents , but Carlos got too cocky for his own good and shoulda known better to continue with such a silly Attacking and open approach vs a clearly superior, quick footed and fluid passing japanese..!!
i think we woulda had a far far better chance of winning that semi parking the bus and playing typical CQ defensive football..and im sure then beating Gutter next and lifting the AC crown was all but in the bag..! :/

i didnt watch the final .. ... but to date im most confused as to how Gutter made it that far into the tourney and especially how they actually managed to beat Japan for the Title .. !!

A lot of things went wrong in the Japan game

First goal with Kanani as mentioned but what little gets discussed is the penalty that was awarded to them, which went to VAR review, but the referee STUCK to his wrong decision

That penalty doesn't get awarded and maybe we had clawed our way back to equalize

Actually i believe the opposite. If we had continued the same way as vs Oman & China we would have won. But instead that moron started treating them like Brazil.

Japan was shitscared before the game but CQ fked up with his sudden defensive approach. Watch the 1st half of that game again, it’s obvious he told the boys to only play long balls to Azmoun.
