in my opinion pag is our best cb and has been. He had a drop after his many injuries and due to aging but is still the best cb we had. Sadly he gets injured alot. The main thing I disliked about your post is shaking salt on wounds or hitting a man who is down. Pag had a bad injury and saying we won’t miss him is not the nicest thing to say about one of our best cbs if not the best. These players work so hard with so few resources and deserve much more credit and appreciation not negative nonconstructive criticism.

hezbavi has no chance to Crack the line up.

Lets be realistic! PAG just came back from long injury before WC and didn't have a good WC overall!
Shouldn't he start in WC? I would say yes, as Shoja and Kanani were in better shape!
But since last 6 months he is playing his usual consistent football!

Yeah but it’s not really fair to judge, he’s caught in the heat of the game. Replays are very slow and not representative of the high speed of the game. It was just an unfortunate tackle in regards to where the Qatari player fell, placement of the ball, and mortezas slide. I feel really bad for him; we shouldn’t blame him for being passionate and putting in 100% effort.

yes in hindsight it’s all a waste, and it was not needed but it all Happens fast

he fully committed to that tackle prematurely and his momentum pretty much carried him for the inevitable nasty clash .... !! currently not my highest rated nor favorite CB... but off course still wish him full and speedy recovery..!

i have no problem with kannani's after goal cele either ...!! and he had every right to rub it in CQ's face..!
for keeping him largely nailed to bench during the WC... after playing the perhaps the most instrumental role in qualifying us for it during the WCQs (him and Taremi imo were the only consistently solid performers in late WCQs
)... especially back when our backs were against the wall and even the most positive of us TM fans couldnt fathom still qualifying for WC after the wiltits gandzani...!!

Imo cq made 2 major mistakes and he paid for both of them.

1. Seyed Jalal getting crossed off due to bronko beef, seyed Jalal should of been starter 2018 wc and 2019 ac......him not being on the field qb the d cost us the Japan match.

2nd mistake
he didnt want deal with drama of crossing off shoja from wc squat so he taked him and didn't play him , he shouldn't of never taken shoja to the wc.
cq realized his mistake of starting pag over kanani, he subed kanani in and most likely kanani was going to start the wales and us match...but shoja knowing he won't get any playing time turned kanani against cq and cq didn't play him again.

Overall thoughts from this camp:

Bad game vs Jordan, frankly somewhat lucky to win with the amount of fuck ups in the back. Did improve considerably vs Qatar, although first half was pretty poor. At least defensively and in possession we were sharper. Obviously boys were more motivated in front of CQ.

Regarding GN: His list was decent and overall there were some patterns of play that you could see more developed compared to previous camps. Like that he takes a back seat and let manicone do most of the in game coaching. Clearly he got the reaction he wanted following shitty jordan game. Still think there are too many ezafi moftkhors around TM atm (Azizi and Hooman, seriously...?) Tactically I still do not think playing a 442 vs korea+ sides is the way to go. Yes, Azmoun and Taremi are closer together but a midfield of Saeid and Saman alone will get overran. There must be a 3rd profile in there, this will also allow saman to show his creativity even more. IMO hosseinnejad can be that guy, maybe even Ghorbani from sepahan but GN waited too long to introduce them into the frame so it will probably be nour...

Players: Saman cemented himself as a starter, thank god for that. Good game vs Qatar, on and off the ball, following up with his good performance in more advanced role vs Bulgaria last camp. Saeid will be a starter too. Ultimately we have no better DM and he is putting in consistent performances now in danish top flight, just selected in totw. Yeah, he has glaring deficiencies but that is what it is. The other options there are much worse. Hopefully he continues to build up fitness in the next couple months pre AC. Still as slow as ever...

Mohebbi and ARJ wide were quite dissapointing. Both imo should be subs only at this stage. For wingers I put fit torabi and gholizadeh ahead of them.

Sardar looks much more fit (thx mou) and very active in the press vs Qatar, nice goal from him. I think with dybala injury he should get more mins this month and hopefully some goals to really be confident heading into AC.

Injury to PAG is not a huge concern although disappointing for the player. CB should be 2 of Kanani, Majid, Hazbavi. They have the most speed and that is something TM defense clearly lacks. Ramin had good games, although these are always the kind of matches he has been fine in. Offensively he gets involved and has a great cross. He is exposed on the other end, in transition, in 1v1 situations vs top wingers. Prefer Moharrami in those matches. Situation for RB is stable. LB is not very stable, but milad after what feels like 4 years finally made positive TM contribution. He has been rotating with Hajsafi at AEK and hopefully can gain some more confidence pre AC.

Moving forward: Hope GN is not stubborn with 442 vs top sides, it wont work. 433 is the best option there and eliminates need for one non-productive extra winger like mohebbi. In group stage matches, probably ro16 442 is fine.

Would like to see continued calls for hazbavi, hosseinnejad, and think ghorbani deserves a callup as CDM option also since we are short there. I guess he will still give backup DM spot to cheshmi though.

that was the biggest problem with CQ.... his childish yek dandegi and often Ignorant/Pity Personal vendettas against players (even officials/refs) who didnt kiss his asss per say all the time ..!
in essence, CQ pretty much sacrificed the wc glory for our country in order stroke his own supposedly bruised Huge ego..!! he done this shitt many times before... as you mention with Seyed Jalaal, AK8, FFS even CR7..!!

Kannani and Khalilzadeh were the defensive pillars that qualified us to the WC22 AND IMO FULLY DESERVED TO START AND CARRY US THROUGH IT..!

Our biggest visible issue has been the high pressure from the opposition. We couldn't play simple passes from the back once the high press was put on.
