I feel like a broken record but I have to reederate, CQs stubbornness really cost us in the last WC. His insane lineup vs England cost us our biggest defeat since the 50s and his lame lineup and first half tactic vs US cost us the Round of 16.
And this was his 3rd WC attempt with the same team not first or 2nd.
So now, I can totally sympathize with those who have a certain dislike towards him.

Even if he knows it's a long shot for him, he'll take the job anyway right? Who wouldn't?
The timing of the hire left him extremely slim to no chance. Even picking the wrong lineups isn't surprising if that was the case, considering he wasn't with this squad for over 3 years, and it changed a bit during that time.
I blame it on the lack of organization our football unfortunately has.

If we managed to keep CQ after Asian Cup 2019, we would have been a hell of a team by 2022, and could have even beat Holland!
Look at the massive contrast this disorganized federation brought us instead. Hopefully 2026 will be better somehow!

He accepted the job and his only genius tactic towards England was to field in a Weird lineup hoping to confuse Southgate and we all saw what happened.
Even after that embarrassing loss the other results went our way so well that we were in the greatest position we had ever been to advance before our last game.
Yet he managed to screw that up as well by having an ultra defensive tactic and fielding slow players in the midfield knowing damn well that the US has speedy midfielders.
No...This failed campaign is all on him without a shadow of a doubt.

They fail to see the school boy errors by CQ. CQ was mistake for our WC campaigne ! End OFF!
Don't get me wrong I was a CQ fan and I still respect what he did for us in World cup 2018 but honestly his tactics are out dated and EXPIRED!. Maybe if we had him like 15 years ago we would've qualified to next round WC in 2010 (would've qualified) or 2014 (next round), but his tactics are simpley out dated. Now days teams know how to handly parking the bus with compact physical game plan.

I have been a die hard TM supporter since the late 60s and I never thought I would ever see our beloved team get humiliated like that.
I said it after that loss, the only way for CQ to redeem himself is to get us to the round of 16 which he also failed miserably.
I wish him the best of luck, but I never want to see him in charge of TM again.

We made fun of saudies for losing to germans by 8 goals now they are making fun of us for losing to the english by 6 goals. Whats more shocking is that we have people here deffending CQ for this poor performance.

The chorus of players and coaches slamming the team for meeting Raisi had nothing to do with our loss.
The IR agents and operatives threatening the players for any act of defiance had nothing to do with the loss.
The rift between the bassijis (Torabi and Amiri) and the rest of the team, both being left out had nothing to do with the loss.
The Iranian crowd screaming Bisharaf at the players at two different junctures had nothing to do with us losing.
The loss of our experienced number one keeper 10 minutes into the game had nothing to do with the loss.
It was the just manager's outdated tactics??!

Why is it so hard for you to accept the fact that CQ was a mistake???? This man has been a failure since 2018. Colombia ,egypt ,iran and now qatar.

CQ took Egypt to the finals of the African Cup where they were barely beaten. That is not "failure" to any fair minded person. My Egyptian friends were impressed by his achievement inspite of Egypts useless federation.
CQ failed with Colombia but not with Egypt.
CQ made numerous errors with Iran including taking 4 keepers and not taking a full squad, some strange selections top of which was not starting Goddos in every game.
But we lost to England first and foremost because England was far more superior to us. Don't take my word, look up the betting odds... England had 3x the odds of beating us than the reverse. Our best team with Guardiola leading would have lost to England too.
With a far superior team, players In a complete pressure cooker of IR and losing the most experienced and best keeper inside 10 minutes...spells a blowout.
Why don't you praise CQ for picking the completely defeated team off the floor and bring them to beat Wales? That was an amazing achievement!
It is such a joke to blame our performance at WC22 just at the foot of CQ. WC2022 was not a normal WC for Iran... thanks to IR.
