There was a whole factor of things that contributed to the fact that we did horribly in the World Cup :

1. the political situation in Iran

2. the fact that the boys had no support in the stadium or anyone of the football community was not supporting them

3. fact that they let go of skocic for CQ, went from a offensive team to a defensive team

It wasn’t any single one of these things that made the team lose. It was a combination of all three of them together that made us lose so horribly against England, and basically lose against the US.
