Morocco-Iran game will be about which team keeps its head and avoids stupid mistakes longer.

They are a former colony so they have "emkanat" advantage and have one player at PSG , two at Ajax , one at Juventus, Two at Eintracht Frankfurt ,one at Lille, one at Anderlecht.

Despite this I don't believe them to be "better" than us technically so if we can take the game to them we will have a chance. What they won't be doing is parking the bus so there should be more space for our counters.

He was telling me few years back when they made to semi almost non of their players made to senior level!
So it is not only in Iran!
Players development is a mystery even in some more developed european countries
Obviously they get more publicity than kids from Iran !

Exactly. According to FIFA.COM, they also mentioned our knockout stage progression for the 4th time.

IR Iran booked their spot in the FIFA U-17 World Cup knockout phase four a fourth time following a 5-0 win over New Caledonia.


We got somewhat lucky to meet with Morocco ☺️ they lost to Ecuador but managed to top the group as Ecuador tied the other two games and finished second next to Morocco which finished first with 6 points. They had a relatively easy group. We shouldn’t have a very tough task. We got lucky we didn’t end up with other teams such as Spain. It could be nicer if Ecuador won their match against Indonesia. Then we could have the easiest luckiest path but most amazingly Indonesia drew with Ecuador!

complaining bc we didn’t score more vs New Caledonia…Some of you guys are too much. Same people were unaware of this teams existence until last week and now they must score 10 vs New Caledonia or else they failed. Lol.

the reality is that this team has a history of playing to the level of their opposition somewhat, as is quite normal in this age group. They beat Yemen in a pk shootout in AC QF just to make this tournament. Yet they played a magnificent game in the same tournament against South Korea team that only barely lost to France the other day.

It really didn’t matter what place we finished as long as with 6 pts. They finished their job in the first 2 games (both performance and result wise).

One thing I do find bizarre is the lack of rotation. Think some of the subs, especially offensive ones would have been more motivated in this type of game but doesn’t seem like they exerted much anyways.

Ended up with a favorable draw to possibly make a deep run as well, although they will have to raise their game again vs Morocco.

so far a very successful tournament. Anything from here on out is a bonus but the opportunity is there for a deep run

It actually happened quite recently when Uzbek U23 beat our Iran U23 team while Iran beat Angola 4-0

Couldn't have said it better...this is great for us. Extra rest day and weaker opponent than other teams. We will be better recovered. People are seriously acting disappointed that we lost because of rain against a team with PL youth academy players.

Even if out of everyone in this team, we send 2-3 players to Europe that's great. That's 2-3 more than before. Arsha is already confirmed to have received foreign offers
