I just want to know where this belief comes from - that we will win Asian Cup if we play good attacking football now that the "chains of Queiroz are off"

That would make sense if we had better attacking players than Korea and Japan. They have better attacking players and better defensive players.

It's good to be positive but it's trolling to keep repeating the same thing without any real explanation apart from "we will win it". Also don't think its fair on younger forum members who might not remember the dark era between 2005 and 2012

Not at all, in fact not blaming him is being unable to remove bias/ understand the reality. He was the best on at messing up tournaments, that’s for sure lol.

Hattrick in WC-failures and twice messing up the AC. This loser of a coach should never be forgiven for this.

Iran will win the AC by playing attacking football for majority of 90 min. We all saw what happened when we reverted back to CQ style in 2nd half vs Uzbekistan.

It has never worked and will never work for us to play ”park the bus”. Faghat hamle, the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can get our 4th AC-title.

Whatever you think about Quieroz tactics you cant possibly be mad about his record vs Arab teams esp Qatar. Never seen such consistent winning vs peak Qatar by giving the Arabs the ball and outing them for how terrible they are with possession.

Branko etc couldnt even beat Bahrain/UAE/Qatar on a consistent basis


On other hand, We are all hoping we win the tournament regardless of pro/anti CQ or GN. Anyone who wants us to lose to prove a point can go cheer for deported Brazilian Emiratis FC

We were beating S Korea with ease. The best strategy for Iran is to make sure you dont make any defensive mistake (see mexico 06) and that way we can score or tie big teams

Your arguments just aren't valid because those world cup and Asian cup losses weren't CQ fault and anyone without bias / with ability to see the reality would understand that and how CQ actually improved Iran overall, big time.

Your attacking idea is what Iran did for several years: strong in attack but very disorganized and poor overall with defending.

They are very valid because those losses are all attributed to CQ and his incompetence.
You seem to forget what he was brought in for: WCR16 & AC-title. Not only did he fail in achieving any of them (despite being in charge for 10 years!), he made us play embarassing football as the cherry on the cake aswell.

Saying that we are going to win the Asian cup because the "shackles of Queiroz" are no longer there is kinda trolling when our happiest best moments since game vs USA 98 were under him.

CQ was in charge for 5 tournaments & almost 10 years. Even i could have brought Iran a few happy moments after being in charge for so long lol.

After finally getting rid of a dalghak who caused us misery by failing in 5 straight tournaments, of course the chains are off. What is kinda trolling is not realizing that.
