Whatever you think about Quieroz tactics you cant possibly be mad about his record vs Arab teams esp Qatar. Never seen such consistent winning vs peak Qatar by giving the Arabs the ball and outing them for how terrible they are with possession.

Branko etc couldnt even beat Bahrain/UAE/Qatar on a consistent basis


On other hand, We are all hoping we win the tournament regardless of pro/anti CQ or GN. Anyone who wants us to lose to prove a point can go cheer for deported Brazilian Emiratis FC

That would make sense if we had better attacking players than Korea and Japan. They have better attacking players and better defensive players.

Iran will win the AC by playing attacking football for majority of 90 min. We all saw what happened when we reverted back to CQ style in 2nd half vs Uzbekistan.

We didn't revert back to cq style in 2nd half against Uzb, it is just GN sucked at player selection in addition of being coward and unidimensional.

You can see all cq do wrong, but at least he had some good results here and there against strong teams. While the current guy isn't good enough to correct a wrong player selection or some unfavorable event.

We usually pose and try to full throttle Arab teams and always ended up with a crummy 0-0 tie against Bahrain or losing in prior World cup games with better squads we have had.

Look at World cup qualifying 2002 and 2010.

Quieroz figured out how to win those routine games and decrease our stress in the late stages of qualifying.

At this point you are just making it ideological, I dont want CQ back but bashing defensive football for bashing sake doesnt make sense. Also we didnt qualify for the World cup in 2002 and 2010 because our team had no structured defense and gave away cheap goals.

You can field Azmoun, Taremi, Torabi, Jahanbakhsh, Gholizadeh, Ghoddos all at the same time and we will still get destroyed by teams with rigid structures if we have no plan of our own.

Even Manchester City plays with 5 defenders sometimes, no team has won tournaments just playing offensively.

So if you remember those than surely you must see the improvements CQ made compared to those disaster teams. We qualified to the world cup with ease, we didnt give away cheap goals like we dod vs mexico. We tied big teams rather than losing to them (yugoslavia.. germany.. portugal) and he got us good training camps and my personal favourite... he got rid of all the trouble makers on the team

CQ was hired to get us to WC R16. He even got a free pass for WC22 to do it. He was given 3 chances and still messed up. No improvement.

CQ was hired to get us that AC-title. He was given 2 chances and still messed up. No improvement.

All the things you mention are worth 0, as he failed to acomplish the two most important things( WC R16 & AC-title).
