    I dont understand at all

Its like I am in the twilight zone

Some are saying GN will win AC playing Barcelona Tiki Taka 3-1-6 formation all out attack but looking at our list we look like a Burnley with better cuisine

Anyways, the list of players the clown decide to snub is more exciting than the one he took :

      Gk : akhbari
Defenders : Jalali, Karimazar, Hazbavi, aghasi
MF : Hosseinejad, ghorbani, khodabandelou, shekari, nourollahi
Strikers/wingers : Eckert, Allahyar, abdi, Hashemnejad..

And I don't count the u17 and some other promising IPL players
They could maybe beat our starters which is hilarious

      Domt forget Ali Karimi lol

We do have a lot of players and that team could indeed give the final list a run for the money. But unortunately we only have 26 spots.

Judging by the amount of offensive players included, we are more than ready to play attacking football and win it.

I think another thing re young guys we dont see/arent privy too is how the coach interacts with his players.

Ghalenoi is a laat. Classical and in every sense of the word. We literally see/hear him cussing out his own players mid game (Ezatolahi, Khalilzadeh as too recent examples). Compare to EU coaches who cover their mouths when they speak to their players to prevent lip reading, such is the level of respect for their relationship/privacy/keeping criticisms in house.

He cannot treat guys like HosseinNejad, Hazbavi in that manner... and introducing young guys requires patience, tactical input, real coaching. GN is 95% ravani coach...he is choosing guys he thinks will respond to his psychological approach the best by and large.

Another point is that he knows he will be judged by getting to the final. If he gets to the final he keeps his job, if not he failed and reputation (critical for narcissist like GN) will be screwed. Interestingly, the guys he lives and dies by (Shoja, Ramin, Hajsafi, etc) are in the same boat too. So he prefers to ride and die with them for that critical QF game which everything is based on, hoping that they turn up bc they have no future after. Interestingly, CQ went with the same approach in WC. It worked partially in that the team was under immense psych. pressure but rebounded vs wales (benefit of experience) but ultimately failed in US game bc those guys could not carry the momentum through (issue with old guys exposed here. Although maybe all he really needed to do was start ghoddos and torabi and he would have gotten a point there too and still been coach today).

Truly weird things in his list even taking all the above into account was random inclusion of ghayedi (almost 100% to keep some SS fans happy) and presence of both Moghanlou AND Asadi, redundant and totally unnecessary.

Otherwise, in a sense i am happy young guys wont be exposed to this shit. It will be a shitshow with GNs methods, there is very slim chance they work and even if they do its best none of these witness wtf goes on in there.

A real coach would have spent the last year prepping HosseinNejad as the Ghoddos deputy, Hazbavi as pair for majid, finding a new LB from the league, and a new DM from the league. Ghalenoi was just trying to survive instead.

United plays with 1 defensive midfielder all season and sends 5 players up to attack and get scorched on counters.

If you don't have a midfield to anchor we could have Latif Messi and Kourosh Ronaldo but goals still wont appear.

We’re creating a lot of chances in every game so i’m not worried at all playing with only 1DM. In fact, playing with 1DM is our winning card in this AC.

Just shows Iran could send another team that could also go far. We have good depth.

Yeah and our league gets better every year. Even teams like Shams Azar are scary to face. Good times indeed for Iranian football.

I get the mentality he has but the guys he is going to ride or die with are not exactly devout disciples.

Younger players are impressionable and actually listen.

If we strapped Rezaian or Shoja to a wall with chains and made them watch a referee decision they would Hulk smash and still run to argue with the ref 14 yrs into their footballing careers.

They are all under the impression they are gunning for 2026 world cup despite their age which makes it even worse.

Even worse all of them never admit mistakes so even if we crash out the group stage these players will just come out and be poor guests on the footballing broadcasts and spew garbage like Azizi does in a few years time about how they were wronged.

I totally agree and am by no means absolving GN or defending his player selection. I hate it as much as we all do. Just pointing out these are realities the coach, particularly this one, is also taking into account. His thinking is really that if he backs Shoja, talks smack to him, motivates him, that on that QF date he will give one beastly 90 mins. You and I know the odds of that happening are fkin slim to none but he says I know my guys and the chance of that happening is more than hazbavi turning in an impeccable 90 in critical game. He thinks instead in critical game hazbavi will make one mistake and lose himself, or hosseinNejad will get overawed by occasion like poor performance and red card vs Al ittihad

It's insane that dozens of people on a forum or on Twitter knows more than the clown in charge!

Might as well bring in as much hashieh and controversy as possible to have the most exhilarating tournament yet. Can’t wait to see if we can pull off the impossible, or implode and see the reaction. Either way, tbus is gonna be a action blockbuster
