    - Ando is our all time best CM…..better than nekounam and bagheri

    - if we had an ability to bring in better foreign players and allow PGPL teams to have 7-8 players and every single team actually utilized their spots and brought in decent/good foreign players…….we would have had 2-3 different clubs win ACL’s between 2000-present

    - if the Revolution never happened we would have hosted a WC, played in 10+ WC’s and made the semis once. And would have a league similar to Japan if not better.
Agreed on most points. Apart from Ando being better than Nekou and Bagheri.

Iran line up was crazy good

That's true. They improved their partnership significantly. Khatini and Madanchi were not TM level imo to be fixed players.

There's a reason he played in the strongest defensive league in the world, and one of the top 2-3 leagues during that time!

You think these seria A teams are insane to sign a defender that's not even as good as jalal hosseini? Loll Rezaei was definitely better
This was also a time when teams from the premier league, serie a and la liga just didnt sign Asian players - let alone defenders! Sure guys like Nakata could get a couple of games but then back on the bench.

There were no Asian centre backs at all

Seven consecutive seasons and numerous motm awards in the Italian league speaks for itself

He should be considered amongst our top 5 most impressive legionnaires career-wise. As a defender, at his peak he was outstanding and a new class of defender for us.

I was never impressed by Rezaei. At best he was marginally better than those around him. Him playing in Seria A was an anomoly. We had/and have better players that are not scouted.

                Another controversial opinion.

Whilst Ghaedi is not TM starter material. I stand by my opinion that he should play some some minutes at AC simply because of him being a different technical profile of a player than what we have available. If my team is down, and I have a few substitutions and I need a goal I will throw him on with another player to conjur something up. GN made a mistake subbing him off when he missed that chance in front of goal. He just further knocked his confidence.

Objectively, Ghaedi has the technical ability to score such a goal. He will never be a TM starter. But he could become a good player off the bench for us in the coming years. When we have a team full of players where the majority of players cannot run with the ball, control the ball with ease, a player like Ghaedi is needed.

Picture us needing a goal against a team that has parked the bus and we have 10 minutes to score. Who will you bring on to replace a starter like Torabi/Gholi etc on the wing? Shahyrar to attack and pass a winger? Ansarifard? Asadi? Omid? I'm afraid we don't have anybody that has the ability to one-two with Taremi or Azmoun or to dribble his way past a player or two apart from Ghaedi.

Torabi this season has been poor. We have to be imaginative in these scenarios and sometimes, an odd-ball like Ghaedi can help change a game in the dying seconds.

Majidi took Ghaedi with him for a reason. He could have taken many others.

Thought of a few more good ones

                  - if ghasem haddadifar was 10 years younger and a part of the current TM group he would solve all of our midfield problems

                  - if Reza Haghighi didn’t struggle with injuries and coming back from them he would have been a world class DM and would have been a critical part of TM still

                  - if Javier clemente took over in 2007 or 2008 as he was supposed to then we would have made the 2010 WC
                  Team Meli Iran
                  Perspolis FC
                  Malavan Bandar Anzali

"I will never be able to say good bye to Iran. I have a feeling of belonging to this country and to the people." - Carlos Queiroz

Haddadifar was a very good player. Haghighi imo was over-hyped and wasn't as good as people made out he was when he was at Perspolis. He became a drug addict I heard. Clemente wow those years before CQ were sad for us. We were desperate for a good foreign manager to come over.

If the IFF hadn't suspended 5 starters the week before the decisive home and away match against China due to them having drinks during a trip to the Soviet Union for a friendly, we would have overcome China. advanced from our group and ultimately qualified for the World Cup.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Could Ghayeghran have been the best player in Iranian history?

Every clip or mention of him seems like something otherworldly.

I only saw a couple games of him live

                              No. Ghelichkhani undisputed.

Ghaedi, Mohebi, Moghanlu, any striker that can score is great. The problem is that these boys are not scoring when they are given chances. Taremi and Azmoun are at least scoring. Even Torabi sub gives another dimension to the attack. These guys just keep missing. Taremi had to score for Moghanlu vs Burkina Faso. Ghaedi didn't take his great chance either. Azmoun and Taremi better be well out of breath before they are subbed.
