Tournaments hosted by FFIRI

Previously, I had created a thread to look at which higher ranked teams played Team Melli in Iran for friendly matches and friendly tournaments.

Now in this thread, I decided to see which national teams tournaments for Football, Futsal and Beach Soccer have been hosted by Islamic Republic of Iran Football Federation ie. since 1979.

Observations:

1. 2 x Continental (Football Youth) and 2 x Continental (Futsal)

2. Not a single CAFA Tournament hosted in Iran

3. Suprisingly in 2017 and 2018, some European Beach Soccer national teams took part in 4-nation tournament in Bushehr. Note both tournaments are the only tournaments hosted during FFIRI Presidency under Mehdi Taj

4. During the presidency of Khatami, FFIRI benefited from LG Sponsorship and hosted many LG Cup tournaments, however after Ahmadnejad said he wish for Israel to be wiped out, LG cut off sponsorship and 2005 Tournament was hosted without LG sponsorship

5. During FFIRI Presidency under Kafashian, AFC together with football federations of Afghanistan and Syria had confidence in Iran to host WCQ matches for Afghanistan and Syria national teams. Since these were not tournaments, I did not list those matches.

Conclusion:

Ahmadinejad is again to be blamed for Iran losing sponsorship by LG and thus missing out on opportunity to host tournaments.

AFC perhaps lost confidence in FFIRI's ability to host tournaments.

Baharvand, Azizi Khadem, Majedi eras no tournaments perhaps due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Mehdi Taj and FFIRI Board not showing interest in hosting tournaments. If they did, they would have hosted CAFA tournaments for Youth, as well as CAFA Nations Cup and Futsal.

What are everyone else's observations and thoughts? Will we see at least CAFA tournaments hosted in Iran this year or next year?
