Milad should only play against Korea or Japan btw - he shouldn't get a single second against any other team because he will just mess up any attack. We need him to be a defender and to frustrate Hwang or Mitoma.

No I can't stand him, first time he was coach was a disgrace and I haven't forgiven him since, despise his face - I'm just realistic and after decades of watching iranian football i think being realistic and pragmatic and understanding where we are and what we have, and what Iran is like at the moment is better over being "We wiLL wINS thIS cUP beCAUSE wE nO LONger have QUEIROZ" like @miladb or peiman92 I'm just favouring that we should be honest and open about our talent pool in Iran and the situation of the country.

Maybe you feel differently, but please feel free to put me on your ignore list. Please....
I didn't mean to be rude, I apologise if I offended you but like I mentioned you've posted the same thing a number of times and to be completely honest with you, I disagree and I'd imagine many others will do to.

His success was close to a decade ago and only domestic. He's failed internationally multiple times. I can name at least two Iranian coaches that are better than him right now.

Ghale noei is a great coach overall but he had problems seeing the notes he made before the game today due to the chunk of fat blocking his view.

          simple fact for me:

We didn't appreciate what we had with Queiroz

Anything we get now, is what we deserve. I dislike Ghalenoei immensely, but i can't name another iranian coach who has his belly size or who can deal with iranian media. Also however not great a coach he is, his squads don't get quite as fractured as other iranian coaches.

Yahya or Javad would be fine for club coaches but wouldn't last a week with this $hitshow. Ghaleneoi just has proportionally less enemies than the rest, and that's probably the best we can ever get. sorry if that's controversial and if I blocked you for going at me randomly when I just can't be arsed any more

Agreed 100%. There are, however, a few delusional individuals who keep thinking the "chains are off", "the parked bus is on the move", and the imaginary "beautiful attacking football" will take TM and the General (LOL) to the AC championship trophy. Disgusting!

Still can't believe some fans think we're better off playing open attacking football while defending so poorly!

Give these chances up to Japan, Korea, Saudi, Australia and we're screwed! Especially Japan and Korea.

We won't "just score more goals than we concede"

When we give up a chance and go down vs Japan or Korea, it's not as simple as "oh we'll just keep attacking and outscore them" .... This isn't a weaker opponent like what we've faced so far with all due respect.

This disorganized, Open approach we have is going to come back to bite us hard if we play like this vs the big teams.

When was the last time we played pragmatic offensive football against any decent side at the WC or AC? We lose playing conservatively. I rather lose trying to score goals

Who wouldn't prefer pragmatic, offensive football? What this team displays on the field is pure mayhem, nothing more!

I honestly enjoy us playing pragmatic disciplined football and grinding out a draw or a single goal loss against a European champion or world champion.

Its really not that bad - sometimes looking at the players all in the right positions and aware of each other is quite a pleasurable experience, once you remove the irrational expectation of success

Is PAG with the squad? I know he isn't in the playing squad but did he accompany the team?

PAG is with them but not registered , similar to Zareh in 2006 or Gholizadeh in 2018 I guess

While there are a ton of issues that point to a very weak performance which have to be addressed. I'd like to say playing against a team that is comprised of "high energy runners" who are sent to only disrupt and hassle you non stop throughout the game IS indeed difficult.
HK didnt have a single football player except the guy in the middle who ran their show.
The rest were a bunch of pacey runners whose sole job it looked, was to keep biting at the heels of opponents, dont give them a mili-second of time and put pressure by shadowing every single opponent player no matter what part of the pitch.
Thats why when they were given opportunity to hurt us, they miskicked and screwed up easiest of chances. Bcoz they werent picked for their non-existent footballing prowess. They were picked for their energy and pace. ONLY!

playing against such a team is always difficult. Even for most professional teams. Let alone ours.

Especially when we can't string three passes together in the best of times. Welcome back BTW!!!

We have only one big problem that will bite us in the end. We are too slow. We keep the ball for too long and this will hurt us against solid teams. Any team can press us high and we will make easy mistakes and lose possession. We are bad with teams that press us hard and this should be a huge warning for us.

I just don't understand some fans here defending this team and think this was the only game we play like that but looking at previous games you could see that we get scored on too easily nowadays and hence at the end of every game (when we are behind ) we start playing football and not before that.

This mentality is hurting us and we do so many unforced errors as our head is not in the game somehow we are either not fit physically or have no mental strength. Something is wrong and everyone can see it. And our management team are not that intelligent to fake all this to go further in the tournament either trust me on that.

This is just the way our team is nowadays. Unprepared, slow and without any tactics.
