The two red cards against Kyrgyzstan were legitimate red cards did you watch the tackles? They were both horror challenges . Bias against Iran? We definitely should’ve had a red card v Hong Kong at least when Berio handled outside the box and it didn’t even get a var check .

Alright I can't comment on Kyrgyzstan game since I haven't seen it, but just seeing two red-card players in match report, makes me think possibly of biased refereeing or match fixing straight away.

From the matches I've seen,

Uzbekistan vs Australia (decisions were mostly in favor of Australia, the penalty that resulted in goal for Australia was a gift to them)

Iran vs UAE (decisions such as not counting Mohebi's goal, giving penalty to UAE, and giving yellow card to Kanaani were done in solidarity with UAE and ensuring them finishing second in the group). The Uzbek ref I don't think was biased to Iran, however he was influenced by Saudi VAR assistants and UAE bench for making decisions in favor of UAE.

Tajikistan vs Qatar (incompetent Japanese ref made many decisions in favor of Qatar, he made the entire Tajikistan team and coaching staff angry with his decisions).

I did not watch Tajikistan vs Lebanon, but many decisions were against them, I think they had two goals not counted as well, on Social Media their fans were not happy.

Kateb jan, I agree with the spirit of what you’re saying and it’s definitely theoretically the right decision. But I don’t see this happening to be honest.

Most likely scenario is general starts a strong lineup, tells team to go all out attack. And once we’re up a few goals, he will sub out key players.

Im hoping for slower more physical lineup in this game. Wouldn’t mind featuring saman off the bench. Starting Majid (who IRIB reporter confirmed is healthy), Cheshmi in CDM, and Sardar off the bench. Also wouldn’t mind ARJ starting over Gholi so we can have Gholi for QF. We also need to protect little Ghaedi.

The problem with Cheshmi in CDM is he seriously downgrades our team performance...if our defense is sholezard without Cheshmi...he makes it faloodeh when he plays.

I think Ezatolahi is correct to start to give us some stability in midfield and he's a tough guy so low chance of injury. IMO my lineup would be like this:

Beiranvand
Shoja - Majid - Fallah - Milad

ARJ - Eza - Ebrahimi - Torabi

Moghanlou - Ansarifard

Then get 4 days rest and play iraq in qf.

instead of
8 days rest to play r16
THEN PLAY JAPON OR KOREA ON 2 DAYSREST.

Milad is a maybe start, but I'd def bring in Hajsafi second half if we can't score with Milad.

Ramin at RB is a lock too...

I'd go something like this against Syria:

Beiro

Ramin Shoja Majid Milad

Gholi Ezatolahi Ghoddos Mohebbi

Moghanlou Taremi

We need physical strength against this Syria side that will come with a lot of hustle and energy. Moghanlou and Taremi up top should work OK.. Azmoun as a backup/rest in case we need goal scoring off the bench. I'd also play Torabi instead of one of Gholi/Mohebbi but I just don't think GN wants to play him. Which is weird because he's very good.

I'd honestly maybe even bench Milad too... I just can't look at him the same after his Hong Kong disaster class

Ezatolahi and Ghoddos are a must in the midfield too, unless you want to start Ebrahimi and Ghoddos? But I just don't see our midfield doing anything without Ezatolahi and Ghoddos together...

I saw Iraq vs Vietnam and I think Iraq was lucky to win. They used their height superiority against Vietnam specially their striker Aymen. But Vietnam was unlucky not to at least draw when they leveled in 90th minute. Iraq was lucky to get the last penalty. I am not sure if Iraq would have enough juice to go all the way to the final. They are a good team but they could be defeated by Iran. They beat a rusty Japan as Japan did not really shine against other teams either. This edition of japan is very beatable.

If Iran takes the whole thing more seriously and luck would be a little on our side, we will take the cup. I hope the players understand that if this team would not be champions, to have anything close to this team again will take us many years. So if we don't win it now, God knows when we would have this potential again. We really deserve it so much. I am praying that that this will happen and we won't end up with another heartbreak again.

The reason for ARJ, Moghanlou, and Ansarifard in that line up for me is because they are players we can do without. Gholizadeh is a good player but he gets injured VERY easily...I wouldn't wanna play him 2 times in a row tbh especially in span of 3 days. This Syria side plays awfully physical so there will be lots of fouling on us. Azmoun and Gholi starting = we will be without one of them for a good while
