I like that...unfortunately it probably won't work. Hector Cuper is one of the classic CQ park the bus coaches...he knows how to hold and counterattack. Imo I'd start Azmoun, Mehdi, and Ezatolahi in that lineup then sub them out after 1-2 goals

When I said that I was worried about Asia Cup and mentioned how I believe that there are match fixing and biased decisions, I don't think that I was wrong.

- Lebanese fans were fuming about decisions in favor of Qatar in the opening game.
- Tajikistani fans were fuming about decisions in favor of Qatar
- Tajikistani fans were fuming about decisions in favor of Lebanon
- Two Kyrgyz footballers were red-carded versus Saudi
- Yesterday Australia converted a controversial penalty kick against Uzbekistan
- Yesterday Iran was robbed of a goal or two in match versus UAE and luckily Beiranvand saved a controversial penalty for UAE

AFC being refered to Arab Football Confederation (although backed by Aussie/East Asian and some South East Asian dodgy referees or match fixing syndicates is probably true)

It seems the preference order for winning the tournament by the malicious unsportmanship mob is:

1. Qatar
2. UAE
3. Saudi
4. All other Arabs (Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Jordan/Bahrain whoever else remains)
5. Australia


- Odd ones Japan and South Korea (I do not know if there were any controversial decisions against them versus Arab teams, but I do believe that Arabs prefer Japan, South Korea and Australia winning instead of Iran or Uzbekistan).

Cuper has brought in players of Syrian decent from Latin America and Europe (mostly from Argentina, Sweden and Colombia, but there are others as well for example Peru and maybe few other countries).

Only way to avoid afc corruption is to score exclusively from direct free kicks, although that would require the ref to give us direct free kicks. Other option is to only score from shots outside the box with all other players standing behind the person shooting the ball. Sarcasm but not sarcasm

I watched Uzbekistan- Syria today to get a feel for Syria.

Interesting additions of legionnaires. Their talent level is better than previous editions of themselves but not greatly.

Syria's defensive structure is almost a carbon copy of Iran during the 2014 world cup.

4-5-1 in defense.

Syria doesnt play with a playmaker and does lob balls and hopes to recover the 2ndary ball for long shots.

They press every pass back to goalkeeper so Beiranvand needs to chill.

What I saw them still not handle well was passes that break their lines on a couple instances and their right back and left wing getting isolated.

I think the difference in this game will be our wingers.

If they just send erratic crosses to Azmoun/Taremi who are both double marked we will lose.

if Gholizadeh and Ghaedi/Torabi can dribble their man they will put the Syrians under pressure of making decisions(go in or stay marking Azmoun/Taremi).

Also have to say Uzbekistan had 3-4 good chances where better finishing would have been a goal.
